It was tricky to find a clear starting point, because Mermaid’s Treasure Trove didn’t really spark strong feelings either way. And occasionally, it did. The base game offered glimpses of promise as cascades fed into wild multipliers and they helped clear wins. Nothing jaw-dropping, but enough to tease what the bonus could deliver. Free spins were vastly stronger than the base game, mainly because wilds don’t disappear until the feature ends. The merging behavior when wilds share a win can be a bit frustrating, since having several wilds roaming the grid might have been more beneficial than combining them—though their multiplier values do stack when they merge. It also felt somewhat familiar, with echoes of mechanics seen in titles like Jammin’ Jars or Propaganda. Mermaid’s Treasure Trove keeps everything clean and easy to follow, and arguably its best twist is the pay symbols that add multipliers, which is genuinely effective. Super free spins delivered the biggest rush thanks to the starting x10 advantage, making it a shame they can’t be triggered naturally.

If Mermaid’s Treasure Trove decides to be generous, it can award wins up to 10,000x the bet. The game is certainly capable of producing lively strings of consecutive wins, particularly when wild multipliers merge with hefty values and pay symbol multipliers join in, but the absence of a standout x-factor stopped Mermaid’s Treasure Trove from feeling truly exceptional.
