Falcon Huntress is a Thunderkick slot built on 5 reels with 9 fixed paylines. It comes with expanding wins plus a bonus round featuring free spins with retrigger potential. The theoretical return to player is 96.1%. Falcon Huntress offers a maximum potential of 10,052 times your stake which, as far as we understand, makes it the highest-paying slot Thunderkick has released so far. Since we’re keen to see how it works, we’ll go straight into the features.
In our initial report, we gave incorrect information and stated that up to 20 free spins could be triggered. In reality, the maximum you can trigger is 10 free spins, awarded by landing 3 or more Scatter symbols. The Scatter and Wild use the same symbol — the owl. During the bonus, you can retrigger and gain 10 additional free spins by landing 3 or more Scatter symbols.
In the bonus game, every win expands in a way you’ve likely seen in titles such as Book of Ra (Novomatic), Book of Dead (Play’n GO) and Magic Mirror (Merkur), and this is where the real upside sits.
The expanding mechanic isn’t limited to the bonus; it can also happen in the base game. In the main game, though, it triggers randomly and may occur on any spin. The wild symbol will never expand.
The Falcon Huntress is essentially Thunderkick’s spin on Book of Ra and Magic Mirror, with the key difference being that expanding symbols can also be triggered in the base game. That extra possibility makes the slot more engaging overall, as it adds value outside of the bonus rather than placing everything on the free spins round.
That said, this also means a portion of the RTP has to be assigned to the base game, which then requires the bonus RTP to be balanced accordingly. Put simply, huge bonus wins may be less frequent, but when it connects, it can pay out heavily.
We don’t anticipate seeing many max wins here, since they’re extremely rare in any high-potential slot, but over time it should be realistic to see wins in the 2000-5000x range. Either way, it should be a lot of fun watching casino streamers hunt for the big hits on this one, and we strongly think The Falcon Huntress could be just as popular as Thunderkick’s Pink Elephant, if not even more so.
