Silicon Spinners: Slot Overview
Software provider AvatarUX’s ongoing look at how life is becoming increasingly digital continues with the online slot Silicon Spinners. Created together with Mr Wu, it sits alongside titles like Tik Talkers, exploring a setting where the boundary between the real world and the online one is getting harder to spot. In Silicon Spinners, the focus falls on tech titans who have already changed—or are actively changing—how we live, whether through social networking, operating system dominance, interstellar travel, or online shopping.
If you’ve got a big tech concept begging to be made real, few places enable that quite like Silicon Valley, where even the most far-fetched ideas can become tangible. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Silicon Valley is home to major tech forces such as Apple, Alphabet, and Meta, and remains a centre of innovation. To some, that sounds like a modern tech paradise; to others, it’s a key driver behind humanity’s drift into mindless, soulless, bent-neck, screen-staring zombification. Silicon Spinners lands somewhere in the middle, leaning on humour rather than judgement to give the theme its personality.

Silicon Spinners uses an expanding grid that begins every base game spin by dropping 3 symbols onto each of its 6 main reels. Wins are created when identical symbols appear on 3 or more neighbouring reels starting from either the far left or the far right, so the game pays both ways. The grid can grow to a maximum of 6 rows high, at which point 46,656 ways to win are in play. Bets range from 10 cents to $/€300 per spin, and the game runs on a highly volatile model with a default RTP of 95.92%-96.07%. Players can also switch on the ante bet for 1.5x the stake to triple the chance of reaching free spins.
Symbol values begin with Nine through Ace as the low pays, followed by 3 mid-tier icons representing digital delight or doom, and then 4 tech-titan parodies as the top-paying symbols. Six-of-a-kind combinations return 0.6x for lows, 1.5x for mediums, and 2.5x for highs, noting that 6 OAKs only pay from one direction. Wild symbols can appear only on the leftmost and rightmost reels, and they substitute for any standard paying symbol.
Silicon Spinners: Slot Features

Silicon Spinners brings back the Zap Reel, and pairs it with PopWins, Zap Reel Rewards, a gamble wheel, free spins, and Xpress bonus buys.
PopWins
Every winning symbol disappears from the grid and is replaced by 2 symbols, which increases the reel height. The process continues until no further win is formed. If the reels reach maximum height in the base game, 2 free spins are awarded. Reels reset to their starting size when the next base game spin begins.
Zap Reel
Above the main grid sits a 6-position Zap Reel. Its leftmost and rightmost positions start locked, and landing a wild symbol on the leftmost or reel unlocks them for the duration of the spin. With each spin, the Zap Reel cascades from right to left, dropping in a fresh set of symbols, including standard symbols and Zap Reel Rewards.
- Sync Reels – syncs 2 to 4 reels below the feature symbol till the end of the spin, so all affected reels land the same set of symbols.
- Mystery Reel – affects 1 to 4 reels below the feature symbol, filling these reels with copies of any random regular symbol. If these symbols form a win, the new symbols appearing will also be copies of 1 random regular symbol.
- Win Multiplier – activates if there is a win below it, adding its multiplier (x2 to x100) to the winning combination that triggered it. Multipliers are multiplied together when combined.
- Symbol Multiplier – can be any regular symbol with a multiplier attached that applies to matching symbol wins below its position.
Bonus & Super Bonus
The leftmost and rightmost positions on the Zap Reel begin blocked by Hot Bonus blockers. Landing a wild on the leftmost, rightmost, or both reels unlocks these positions, allowing any symbol or feature reward to show up there. Bonus and Super Bonus symbols can only appear beneath the unlocked Hot Bonus blockers. Landing 2 of them triggers free spins.
Gamble Wheel
Before free spins start, players can take a shot at the gamble wheel to try to secure extra free spins and guaranteed wild symbols. If the gamble spin is lost, play returns to the base game.
Free Spins
Getting 2 bonus symbols on screen triggers 8 free spins. Landing a bonus symbol + a Super bonus symbol in the base game triggers 10 free spins and 1 wild symbol guaranteed to land on each free spin. Landing 2 Super bonus symbols in the base game triggers 12 free spins with 2 wild symbols guaranteed on each free spin.
Free spins begin with reels at 4 symbols high, and the reel unlocking (growth) progress does not reset between spins. Instead, it only drops back to the lowest achieved reel height. During this feature, a bonus symbol awards +1 to +3 extra free spins. A Super bonus symbol awards +2 to +4 free spins. Unlocking every reel to full height grants +4 extra free spins.
Xpress
This is where players can spend 100x the bet to gamble on the wheel, 100x the bet for 8 free spins, or 400x the bet for 12 free spins with 2 wilds guaranteed on each spin.

Silicon Spinners: Slot Verdict
So far, the AvatarUX and Mr Wu collaborations have delivered some seriously imaginative, offbeat releases like FloridaMan and DonKey & the GOATS. Because of that, it felt like Silicon Spinners might push the weirdness even further than it ultimately does. It still has plenty of standout moments, though. The sound design is sharp and very Nolimit City-ish, and the character symbols have a definite Spitting Image vibe, which lands as genuinely funny. The main audiovisual drawback is the rather plain background, with a big portion taken up by an empty tablet screen and brown odds and ends around the edges.
Where Silicon Spinners really picks up is in the gameplay, with the Zap Reel once again showing why it’s a strong addition. AvatarUX clearly has the PopWins, expanding-reels formula nailed at this point, and the two mechanics work together as smoothly as you could hope. On top of that sits a handy set of Zap Reel Rewards, and multipliers that can multiply each other are far more exciting than simple additive boosts. The multiplier values can climb quite high, and the game’s 20,000x the bet win cap is substantial too—so while Silicon Spinners won’t quite reach tech billionaire territory, it still aims high.
Overall, Silicon Spinners ends up as another enjoyable Mr Wu/Avatar UX release. It didn’t hit the level of excitement that might have been expected, and the theme choice is a bit of a double-edged sword. On the plus side, the jokes and the way the subject is handled create a light, comedic tone. On the flip side, the gameplay and mechanics are perfectly solid, but they don’t quite deliver that one standout, must-see feature that truly captures the ‘move fast and break things’ mindset Silicon Valley is known for.
