The biggest issue is that, when they do trigger, they often don’t change much at all. The second annoyance is landing a modifier that ends up doing absolutely nothing.

For example, you might be awarded a multiplier for a specific symbol type, only to have no matching combination on the reels for it to apply to. Even so, you still have to watch the animation before discovering you’re getting nothing. That’s a pity, because Blirix Workshop’s likeable visuals create a welcoming setting, but any initial goodwill can fade quickly as repeated, ineffective features chip away at your patience. Free spins do speed things up, there are more spells, and stronger returns can happen, but they take serious patience to land. When they finally arrive, you’ll be hoping they do enough to help recover your bruised bankroll.

Blirix Workshop would have benefited from stronger features, more frequent free spins, or a base game that didn’t feel so sluggish. That said, the audience it’s designed for may still enjoy it a lot. If your main aim is simply spinning reels in a cute, cosy world, then Blirix is a solid pick. If, on the other hand, slow feature animations that lead nowhere make your blood run cold, it’s probably best to skip Blirix.
