Blade & Fangs: Slot Overview
With a title like Blade & Fangs, you can safely assume this isn’t going to be about sweets, leprechauns, or classic fruit icons. Instead, Blade & Fangs is a horror-themed slot from software provider Pragmatic Play, packed with sharp, sinister imagery. As with plenty of horror flicks, there’s a gimmick too: most of the action runs across two separate game grids. However, if two knife-stabbing flower symbols land on the outermost reels, the two grids combine into a bigger one for respins and free spins.
On the presentation side, Blade & Fangs looks and sounds solid, though it didn’t really deliver a compelling narrative hook. It feels more like a mix-and-match collection of horror visuals and audio stitched together to see what unsettling result comes out. The setting is a chamber resembling a church altar area, with skull-covered flooring and an eerie, shimmering glow. Creepy effects sit on top of the soundtrack, which occasionally shifts into full metal to lock in the grim mood—although the upbeat, triumphant win jingles can undercut the tension a bit. Overall, it’s atmospheric enough, but the theme comes across as a little unfocused.

Before you choose between blades or fangs, you’ll want to pick your stake. Bets range from 20 c to $/€240 per spin, and there’s also a buy feature available. The RTP is set at 96.05% regardless of how you play Blade & Fangs, and it uses a highly volatile math model. The standout element is the split-screen layout: a 5×3 grid on top and a 5×3 grid on the bottom—each offering 243 ways to win.
Both grids use the same symbol set too: sharp metallic 10 to A card royals for lower-value wins, followed by a bat, a snake, a ghoul, a wolf, and a skeleton as the premium symbols. A 5-of-a-kind low symbol pays 1 to 1.5 times the stake, while 5 matching high symbols return 2 to 10 times the stake. Notably, Blade & Fangs doesn’t include wild symbols, though it does feature a scatter plus two multiplier symbols.
Blade & Fangs: Slot Features

Each grid has its own dedicated multiplier symbol, and the two work in tandem by linking the separate reel sets. Alongside that, the game includes free spins with an overall multiplier, plus a buy feature.
Multiplier Symbols
The +1x multiplier symbol can land on the leftmost reel of the top grid, while the x2 multiplier shows up on the rightmost reel on the lower grid. When both multiplier symbols land at the same time in the base game, the two reel sets merge into a single 6×5 grid, and a respin is triggered. During the respin, a general x2 multiplier applies to any wins. If a +1x multiplier symbol lands on the respin, the general multiplier increases by +1. If an x2 multiplier lands, the general multiplier is multiplied by x2. Once the respin ends, all wins are multiplied by the general multiplier, and the game separates again into two 5×3 screens.
Free Spins
The flaming skull scatter symbol lands on reels 2, 3, and 4. Landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols pays 2x, 15x, 100x, or 500x the bet, respectively, and also awards 8 free spins. Free spins are always played on a merged 6×5 screen, with a general multiplier active throughout that begins at x1. Each time a +1x multiplier symbol lands, +1 is added to the general multiplier, and each time an x2 multiplier lands, the general multiplier is multiplied by x2. Hitting 3 or more scatter symbols adds +4 free spins.
Buy Free Spins
Free spins can be purchased for 100 times the total bet. When you buy free spins, 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols will randomly land on the triggering spin.

Blade & Fangs: Slot Verdict
Much like a pizza that’s gone soggy or one that skimps on the cheese, Blade & Fangs didn’t fully satisfy. Pragmatic Play releases games at a rapid pace and is clearly capable of producing standout titles, but Blade & Fangs felt closer to a misfire—like it was rushed, or the team had a few strong concepts but couldn’t quite settle on how to shape them into a cohesive whole. The result is a somewhat piecemeal experience: it seems the main goal was a two-grid slot that merges, yet the supporting features don’t quite elevate the idea into something that really clicks. The theme also falls short of grabbing you the way Darkness or Serial did, and it doesn’t have the same character as Hellvis Wild or even Demon Pots.
For much of the time (unless you’re repeatedly using the bonus buy), Blade & Fangs is essentially two grids spinning at once with limited excitement between events. Multiplier symbols appear now and then as a tease, and every so often both land, pulling the reel sets together. That’s when things can finally ramp up, since respins provide far more space and ways for wins to connect. Respins also act as a preview of the free spins round, where the grids stay merged for the entire feature, helped along by the valuable rising win multiplier. With a win cap of 5,000x the bet and respectable core stats, Blade & Fangs certainly has the potential to deliver a big moment.
Of course, most slots can produce a surprise when the right symbols line up. So while it’s a serviceable horror entry with the usual Pragmatic Play polish, Blade & Fangs wasn’t the kind of game that inspires either panicked sprints into the night—or that irresistible urge to keep coming back for more.
