Sweet PowerNudge: Slot Overview
Pragmatic Play expands its PowerNudge series with a third entry called Sweet PowerNudge. The straightforward title may not sound especially thrilling at first, but it tells you exactly what you’re getting. Sure enough, Sweet PowerNudge lands firmly in the candy-themed slot camp, with all the bright, sugary sensory cues that come with it. On the gameplay side, it combines the PowerNudge mechanic with a Multiplier Reel, free spins, and, where offered, the Ante Bet and feature buy.
Visually, Sweet PowerNudge is easy on the eye, though—much like the name—it doesn’t break much new ground. Candy symbols sit over a candy-filled backdrop, so the reels are packed with sweet, chewy-looking treats. The music adds a bit of spring with its upbeat tone, although boosting the bass on your equaliser could give it more weight. Overall, it’s a pleasant setting, just one that feels very familiar at this point. Even if there’s a clear strategy behind the simple, feel-good Candy Crush-style approach, Sweet Powernudge doesn’t show much that seasoned candy-slot players won’t recognise instantly.

Looking back briefly, the earlier PowerNudge titles—Goblin Heist PowerNudge and Rise of Giza PowerNudge—shared similar grid formats, but Sweet PowerNudge takes a different route. Here you get 6 reels with 5 symbols on each reel, plus a multiplier reel positioned on the right. Wins are formed when matching symbols land in blocks of at least 5, connected horizontally or vertically. The game comes in three RTP versions—96.08%, 95.01%, and 94.07%—and these figures remain unchanged whether you play normally, enable the Ante Bet, or purchase free spins. Stakes run from 20 p/c to $/€100 per spin, and switching on the Ante Bet raises the bet by 25% while doubling the chance of winning the feature.
The paytable is packed with soft, sugary-looking symbols, starting with J-A card icons for the lower payouts, followed by purple, yellow, green, and red candy treats for the higher ones. Basic five-of-a-kind wins return 0.1 to 1x the bet, while the biggest 15+ sized clusters pay 10 to 100 times the bet. There are other ways to enhance wins, but wilds won’t help—because they do not appear at any point in Sweet PowerNudge.
Sweet PowerNudge: Slot Features

With PowerNudge as the main attraction, it makes sense to begin there. Whenever a win appears on the grid, the reels containing the winning symbols nudge down one position, and new symbols drop in from the top. Reels that aren’t part of the win don’t move. The game then pays again for any winning symbols visible after the nudge. Fresh wins can be created by the movement, and the nudge sequence ends when no more winning combinations remain. After that, the next paid spin or free spin starts.
Multiplier Reel
The multiplier reel can show multiplier values of x1, x2, x3, x4, x5, or x10. In the base game it’s turned off by default, but it can randomly activate. When it activates, it also nudges during that spin whenever winning reels nudge. After each nudge, the multiplier value in the middle position is added to a running total multiplier, which is applied to the win from the current nudge. Once the spin ends, the multiplier returns to x1 and the reel switches off again.
Free Spins
Scatter symbols are collected when they land, and in the base game, collecting 4 or more triggers the free spins feature. If the bonus is triggered with more than 4 scatters, the extra scatters carry over into free spins, where they can help with retriggers. The round starts with 7 free spins, and every time 4 scatters are collected, you receive +3 additional free spins. A key advantage in free spins is that the multiplier reel is switched on for the full duration. Finally, there’s the feature buy option, allowing players to purchase free spins for 100 times the stake.

Sweet PowerNudge: Slot Verdict
Sweet PowerNudge is a tricky one to sum up. It didn’t exactly grab attention right away with its understated title, and that same understated vibe continues once the familiar candy visuals take over the screen. After the mischievous goblins in Goblin Heist PowerNudge and the cyborg pharaohs of Rise of Giza PowerNudge, it’s natural to expect something a bit bolder. Instead, this entry leans heavily into straightforward sweets, a theme that’s been used often enough that Sweet PowerNudge can feel slightly dated.
Of course, presentation is only part of the story—so what about how it plays? It’s solid, though not especially groundbreaking. Pragmatic Play has used the multiplier reel concept before in titles such as Hot Safari and Aztec Gems. Here, it can be genuinely effective when it starts landing multiplier values, building the combined multiplier during a nudge chain—something that can happen randomly in the base game or on every free spin. You may need some patience through stretches of quiet spins, but Sweet PowerNudge has features and a payout style that can build momentum as they interact. With a max win of 5,000 times the bet, there’s clearly room for some seriously lively sequences when things line up.
After the creative sparks of the previous two PowerNudge releases, it’s a bit of a letdown to see Pragmatic Play retreat to such a standard theme. That said, candy slots remain hugely popular—especially those from Pragmatic Play—so choosing a comfortable, cosy setting could still help this become a PowerNudge stand-out. Or it may end up as one of those games that’s fine for a couple of spins, but not compelling enough to keep coming back to. We’ll see how it plays out.
