Tumbles

The Tumble mechanic removes winning symbols from the grid. Any gaps created are then filled as symbols above fall into place, and if that drop forms another win, the Tumble feature activates again. When no further win appears, the combined tumble payout is awarded.

Rocket Feature

Whenever a Rocket symbol lands, all symbols underneath it are transformed into wilds. The Rocket then launches away and leaves a wild symbol in the position it landed in. After that, these extra wilds nudge down one position on each winning tumble, whether they contributed to the win or not. As wilds move down, a new symbol drops in at the top of the relevant reels. Added wilds either slide off the bottom of the grid or are cleared at the end of a free spin when no more wins land.

Free Spins

Landing 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 scatter symbols awards 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, or 35 free spins, respectively. After that, players get the choice of gambling on a red and green gamble wheel for more free spins or taking the spins and heading into the bonus round. Based on the imagination powering Rocket Blast Megaways, that future still seems a long way off.

That may sound harsh, but it isn’t meant that way. There’s plenty to like about Rocket Blast Megaways, and it was fun to put through its paces. The space theme is well executed, the aliens have personality, and the soundtrack does a great job of keeping momentum. As noted, the feature set is mostly familiar – tumbles, free spins, and a rising win multiplier; classic Megaways starter-kit material. The standout twist is the Rocket symbol, which creates wilds before taking off. It’s somewhat comparable to the wild transformations in Power of Thor Megaways (and related slots) and brings to mind the meatball wilds in Spicy Meatball Megaways. It’s not identical by any stretch, though, and it can help stack up repeat tumble wins from time to win. Especially if you end up with, for example, 2 stacks of nudging wilds on reels 2 and 3.

With everything firing at maximum thrust, Rocket Blast Megaways can theoretically deliver wins up to 10,000 times the bet. It’s not the largest Megaways ceiling we’ve seen, but it feels reasonable alongside what Rocket Blast Megaways brings overall. In other words, it’s not the most groundbreaking slot on a technical level, yet the Rocket symbol behaviour and energetic presentation make Rocket Blast Megaways worth a launch or two.
