Rise of Olympus Extreme: Slot Overview
All brawn and bravado, Rise of Olympus arrived as a rework of Play’n GO’s popular Moon Princess, aimed at players who enjoyed the mechanics but weren’t keen on the “girly” anime vibe. And just as Moon Princess has been reshaped into multiple versions over the years, Rise of Olympus has followed the same path—now with Play’n GO delivering one of the most over-the-top editions yet. Appropriately named Rise of Olympus Extreme, this release significantly raises the ceiling on win multipliers and overall win potential, even if much of the rest of the package feels largely familiar.
Visually, it’s the same recognizable Rise of Olympus look—if you’ve played one, you’ll instantly know the style. The artwork remains strong, and the core gameplay loop mirrors earlier entries. A grid sits in a cloudy base-game scene with floating rocks, alongside a rotating trio of gods. Once free spins are triggered, players select the God/modifier pairing they want, and the backdrop shifts to match that choice. It’s a formula Play’n GO has relied on for years, and the studio continues to hold onto it tightly.

With “Extreme” right there in the name, it’s no surprise that Rise of Olympus Extreme is a highly volatile slot (10 out of 10), offering a maximum RTP of 96.2%. Bets range from 10c to $/€100 per spin, and every spin plays out on a 5×5 gaming grid.
Rise of Olympus Extreme includes four low and four three pay symbols. The low symbols are lightning bolts, tridents, helmets, and harps, while the higher-value symbols are Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. Landing 5 matching low symbols pays 0.5x, while five matching high symbols return 1.5x; mixed God symbol combinations can pay up to 1x the bet. Wilds substitute for all symbols and can only be created. Five wilds in a line pay up to 2.5x, and wilds are removed when they are the only symbols remaining on the grid.
Rise of Olympus Extreme: Slot Features

In Rise of Olympus Extreme, wins are formed by landing 3 or more matching symbols in a line, either horizontally or vertically, and symbols can contribute to multiple wins at once. After paying, winning symbols are removed, and the remaining symbols fall to potentially create another win. Whenever a 3 OAK win is cleared, a wild symbol is created in the center position, and a win multiplier increases with each new drop. At the start of any round, the multiplier can randomly increase before the action begins.
Hand of God
Hand of God is triggered at random on non-winning spins. Based on which God is currently active on screen, a modifier activates to assist in producing a win. Hades changes one group of symbols into another symbol, Poseidon places 1 or 2 wilds onto the grid, and Zeus removes two groups of symbols from the grid. After each Hand of God activation, the active God switches.
Wrath of Olympus
Wrath of Olympus begins once the meter is completely filled. The meter is split into three sections, and landing a 3, 4, or 5 God symbol win fills 1, 2, or 3 sections, respectively. When the meter is fully charged and the wins stop, one free round is awarded, and the win multiplier is reset. On every symbol drop that fails to create a win, a Hand of God power is executed until all three Gods have used their abilities in order—Hades, then Poseidon, then Zeus.
Free Spins
The free spins feature starts by completely clearing the screen during Wrath of Olympus (no instant prize is awarded, though). Before the round begins, players choose Hades with 4 spins, Poseidon with 5 spins, or Zeus with 8 spins. The win multiplier is carried over from Wrath of Olympus, doesn’t reset until free spins finish, and can climb as high as x1,000. Throughout the feature, the selected Hand of God power triggers on every non-winning spin. Additional free spins are granted by fully charging the meter, using the same charging rules as the base game. On a retrigger, Hades awards +4, Poseidon +3, and Zeus +2 free spins, up to a maximum of 100.
Grid Clearance
Fully clearing the grid of symbols, except during the Wrath of Olympus, grants an instant prize of 20x multiplied by the win multiplier.

Rise of Olympus Extreme: Slot Verdict
Not to sound like a perpetual complainer, but Play’n GO has leaned heavily into reskins and reworks of older titles lately. It can feel like the studio has been hunting for fresh inspiration and, instead, has kept reaching back into the same well to get new releases out the door. Rise of Olympus Extreme fits that pattern: it’s not a poor game, but it’s also one players have effectively experienced before—again and again—under different coats of paint as Play’n GO continues to squeeze the Moon Princess framework. It’s a strong framework, but after enough repeats, even a great concept can start to feel less special.
The main hook here is clearly the Extreme angle. That label points to the much larger win multiplier and some of the biggest—if not the biggest—win potential seen in a Moon Princess-related slot. The luckiest players could have a seriously memorable session if they crash into the huge 50,000x win cap. A x1,000 win multiplier would obviously make that more achievable, and a nice touch is that the multiplier doesn’t only rise by +1—its step sizes grow as it climbs, creating a snowball-like ramp-up. Beyond that, the cascades, wild creation, and God-driven modifiers remain as entertaining here as they are in the other versions.
Overall, it’s a solid entry that adds an “Extreme” variant to the Moon Princess/Rise of Olympus lineup. Even if most players won’t actually see the most outrageous outcomes in Rise of Olympus Extreme, the knowledge that a massive multiplier and even bigger payouts are possible may be enough to keep some gamblers spinning.
