The soundtrack is also a highlight—an electro-Celtic Riverdance-style blend that adds a lot to the game’s pace and overall fun factor.

Putting the Celtic wrapping to one side and focusing on the numbers, the game runs on a medium volatile math model and comes in four RTP configurations—ranging from 96.15% down to 86.90%, depending on the market. Truly standout leprechaun slots are rare, and unfortunately Rainbow Burst doesn’t break that pattern. Up to now, many Nailed It! Games titles we’ve covered—such as Dog Days or Gold Mine Stacks 2—have offered pleasant surprises through smart little ideas, while others like Rome Supermatch have delivered more distinctive, one-off experiences. Rainbow Burst feels like the most conventional outing from the studio we’ve played so far, as if Nailed It! Games dialled back its usual inventiveness to better fit a theme that’s about as standard as they come.

That said, the feature set does include a couple of interesting angles, so fans of money-symbol collection mechanics may still find appeal—particularly in the Rainbow Burst feature. When it triggers, you’re guaranteed a payout, although most of the time it will likely be the Mini at 10x the bet, or with better fortune, the Midi at 50x the bet. The dream scenario is hitting the game’s perfect combo: triggering Rainbow Burst while the Golden Super Rainbow Chest is active, then landing the 1,000x max prize plus an x5 multiplier on reel 1 to secure the 5,000x the bet top prize. It can happen, but needing several pieces to align adds a “quest” feel that some players will enjoy and others may avoid.

Overall, Rainbow Burst didn’t exactly blow us away or send the beer mug flying. Generally, Nailed It! Games has been enjoyable to follow thanks to its habit of tweaking features and doing acrobatics with mechanics, which has been refreshing. The same enthusiasm can’t really be applied to its theme selection, which often leans into familiar slot territory. After playing Rainbow Burst, the hope is to see the studio push into something more distinctive. Not necessarily anything provocative in a Nolimit City direction, but a theme that better showcases a unique side of Nailed It! Games—alongside its experimental gameplay—could be a compelling next step.
