Poison Eve (Nolimit City): Overview
If you fancy spinning in a fantasy setting, Poison Eve from Nolimit City is a fresh option from Nolimit City. The Pixie motif is a familiar one and pops up from time to time, and Nolimit themselves launched Pixies vs Pirates not too long ago. Poison Eve isn’t as gritty as that title, but it looks great and provides a nice bit of escapism. The 5-reel, 3-row layout sits in front of a backdrop that feels like a magical garden or forest. It does the job without being spectacular, though the game’s tempo means you won’t be staring at the scenery for long. The music comes across like an elf playing a flute beneath a tree, with occasional forest sounds mixed in. Overall it’s immersive and suits the theme well. Just don’t relax too much—the tranquil feel can be deceptive.
More on that in a moment—first, the wagering. As usual, you start by choosing a stake from 20 p/c to $/€100 per spin. There’s plenty of flexibility with auto spins if that’s your preference, and manual spins are available too. For a slot built around magic, the real “tricks” arrive in the features, while the base game can feel like a grind at times. An RTP of 96.08% is respectable, but the volatility is punishingly high. The objective is to land three or more matching symbols across the 20 paylines to score a payout. A couple of encouraging extras can also enhance wins.
Low pays are the card royals (9-A), while the higher tier is made up of four coloured potions—green, blue, yellow, and red. Top of the pile is the Poison Eve symbol, paying 100 times the stake for five of a kind. It appears in a 3×1 format, taking over an entire reel. Beyond that, payouts aren’t especially generous, and long stretches of dead spins can really chip away at both balance and patience. There’s also a wild symbol wrapped in poison ivy that can land on the middle three reels. When it appears, it expands to fill the whole reel. It substitutes for any symbol in Poison Eve except the Bonus Symbol. The base game can test you, but thankfully there are a couple of features that can flip things around instantly.
Poison Eve (Nolimit City): Features

The Poison Eve symbol drives the first feature, called Liquid Magic. It activates when the Poison Eve symbol lands and covers the entire first reel. Every potion symbol that appears on the remaining 4 reels is then converted into Poison Eve symbols. If you manage to turn every reel into Poison Eve symbols, you’ll collect 2,000 times the bet.
The second add-on is the Flower Power Free Spins feature. There’s a Hot Zone frame on the middle row of the fifth reel. If the Bonus Symbol stops inside the Hot Zone, the Flower Power bonus begins. A bar then stretches across the reels showing a set of numbers, and 3 -12 spins are randomly chosen. During these spins, the first and fifth reels become Portal reels. Whatever symbol lands in the Hot Zone expands to fill the Portal Reels. If the Bonus Symbol lands again in the Hot Zone, it adds another Portal Reel and also awards extra spins for the round.
Here’s a quick example. If a Q lands in the Hot Zone during the feature, the Portal Reels become stacked with Q’s. On top of that, if a Q lands on a standard reel, it expands to cover that reel as well. This bonus can be a bit awkward to explain on paper, but it’s comparable to the free spins mechanic in the Book of Ra series and is much clearer once you see it play out.
Poison Eve (Nolimit City): Verdict
Poison Eve can definitely be a rough ride. It may look serene and soothing at first glance, but the math model can deliver sessions that feel anything but calm. After what can feel like endless dead spins—or small, low-impact wins—you may be tempted to march into the woods and start stomping pixies and booting flowers. Everyone’s results will vary, of course, but expect plenty of spins that deliver nothing, which can become irritating.
When they do arrive, the features provide a real lift and are smartly designed. They’re clearly where the game’s value sits, and they can completely change the direction of a session. The Flower Power bonus in particular carries some of that Ra-style flavour and can produce longer, worthwhile bonus rounds. Once you watch Poison Eve work its magic, the high volatility and quieter base game start to make more sense.
Poison Eve is a fun slot overall. It isn’t as captivating as Nolimit’s previous release Dragon Tribe was (in our humble opinion), but it certainly delivers strong moments. In terms of potential, landing 2,000 times the stake in a single spin is an appealing prospect. Naturally, that’s far easier to talk about than achieve—though it only takes five Poison Eves, which is a tempting idea and adds a pull to keep spinning. If you can get the Flower Power feature running well, there’s a chance to reach even higher potential.
If you want a touch of enchantment and can tolerate some brutal stretches of spins that go nowhere while you hunt for bigger hits, Poison Eve could have something to offer.
