Pimped: Overview
’Let it rain yo!’ We’ll do our best to keep the hip-hop nods to a minimum—though that’s easier said than done when you’re trying out Pimped from Swedish developer Play’n GO. Pimped invites players to live out their flashy gangsta daydreams from whatever device they prefer to spin on. Play’n GO leans hard into the bling, the visuals, and—naturally—the soundtrack tied to this well-known slice of pop culture. Pimped revolves around cash, luxury consumer items, rap music, and no-nonsense slot action. Think you’re a true OG? Time to see.
True to its name, this jewel-studded slot serves up an MTV-style take on the hip hop lifestyle. Picture a high-rise crib perched on the top floor of a downtown luxury apartment building—right there sits the 5 reel, 3 row grid. Stars and skyscrapers glow beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, backed by some thumping tracks. Plush, high-end décor frames the lounge area to finish the vibe, turning it into a slick spot for hosting the crew. Pour a little Cristal or Grey Goose, set your stake from 1 p/c to $/€100 per spin, and get ready to go full gangsta.
You can start spinning from just a penny because the paylines can be adjusted from 1 to 10, which makes it a solid pick for low rollers. Play’n GO keeps things uncomplicated in Pimped, rewarding players for landing 3 or more matching symbols on a payline. Much like the lifestyle it riffs on, the game is extremely volatile—rated 10/10 by the developer. That means sessions can swing between feast and famine, especially with the potential for strong single line hits. Supporting that volatility is a fairly generous default RTP of 96.52%. Keep in mind, though, this is the default configuration, and operators can reduce it—so it’s worth checking.
Pimped shows off its biggest shine on the paytable, featuring ten symbols split into 5 low pays and 5 premiums. The premium set begins with a roll of cash held by a rubber band, a chunky gold ‘P’ signet ring, a pair of girls, brother man one clutching a wad of money, and a Snoop Dogg lookalike as the top symbol. The low pays are less exciting, though the 10-A royals still bring plenty of gaudy flair, styled in a glossy ‘thug’ tattoo font. Five of a kind payouts are strong across the board, running from 50 to 750 times the coins staked per line. The knuckle duster wild tops that with 1000 times the coins staked per line for five of a kind, and it also substitutes for any other pay symbol to help complete winning combos.
Pimped: Features
As with plenty of mumble rap, there isn’t a ton of depth to the bonus content. Still, the features work well precisely because they’re simple, and they can drop serious cash when the right symbols show up. Players have two extras to work with—free spins and a gamble feature.
The oversized gold dollar sign acts as the scatter. It may look huge at first glance, but it’s actually a 1×1 tile. Scatters can land anywhere, and 3 on screen award 5 Win Spins. The count may be small, but the name says it all: every Win Spin is guaranteed to pay something. It won’t be a screen full of Snoop every time, but you’ll collect some kind of return on each spin.
If fortune’s on your side, the feature can also be extended, since every scatter that lands adds 2 more Win Spins up to a maximum of 20 total. You’ll also know you’re in Win Spins because dollar bills rain down throughout the entire feature.
The second feature is for players who enjoy taking a chance: the optional gamble round. Here, you try to guess the colour or suit of a face-down card. Pick the correct colour to double your win, or quadruple it by choosing the right suit. The gamble round can be used up to five times in a row, or until reaching a cap of 2,500 coins.
Pimped: Verdict
In the same way rap burst into the music business, Pimped feels like a refreshing change for the slots scene—and it’s not something that’s really been copied since. Beyond the standout theme, the gameplay follows a formula players already love. Pimped isn’t a complicated slot packed with layered rules to learn. It’s direct, high-volatility gambling that can land big payouts when five of a kind or Win Spins connect—ideally both together.
On the winnings front, spins can deliver up to 10,000 times the stake. Is that enough for a fully loaded Maybach? Maybe not, but it still places Pimped among Play’n GO’s better-paying titles. And if you’re not into rap music or the whole scene, can you still have fun with Pimped? Absolutely. The over-the-top wealth flex is clearly tongue-in-cheek, and the punchy math model brings plenty of intensity alongside those respectable win possibilities.
Don’t Miss…
If Pimped is your thing, make sure you also try Play’n GO’s sequel That’s Rich. This updated take is just as in-your-face as Pimped, but adds expanding wilds to stir things up even more. There’s also a female counterpart to Pimped called Blinged.
