Outlaws Inc: Slot Overview

Following developer Hacksaw Gaming’s excellent brush with the Wild West in Wanted Dead or a Wild, we were primed for another dose of shootout-style excitement from their slot titled Outlaws Inc. Yet, proving you shouldn’t judge a slot by its name, Outlaws Inc has nothing whatsoever to do with frontier bandits. Instead, it centres on a biker gang called Outlaw Inc—only this crew isn’t human, but a pack of hard-faced animals wearing helmets.

That idea may spark thoughts of ELK’s Nitropolis series, but beyond the shared concept of anthropomorphic riders and fast machines, the similarities are limited. The Nitropolis games burst with colour, while Outlaws Inc sticks with Hacksaw’s familiar dark backdrop, punctuated by vivid neon accents. It feels closely related to a title like Itero, both in its colour scheme and in a multiplier mechanic that isn’t too far removed. The mood is lighter, though, leaning more toward Chaos Crew in overall attitude.

Even if Outlaws Inc isn’t the most extreme volatile release in the Hacksaw catalogue, a score of 4 out of 5 still means it’s far from a relaxed Sunday ride. RTP is variable, so it’s worth checking the paytable to confirm whether you’re playing the top 96.23% setting or a lower-return version. If the configuration suits you, stakes from 10 p/c to $/€100 per spin are available, and the biker-gang chaos runs smoothly across devices.

Outlaws Inc uses a 5-reel, 4-row layout with 26 fixed paylines. Wins land when three or more matching symbols connect left to right starting from the leftmost reel. There are 8 standard pay symbols in this “wrong side of town” setup: four low-paying rough-and-ready items—bats, knuckle dusters, knives, and grenades—plus four higher-paying characters: a chicken, an eagle, and two dogs. A five-of-a-kind pays 1-2x the bet with low symbols and 5-20x the bet with the high symbols. Five wilds across a payline also award 20x the bet, though wilds are mainly there to complete wins by substituting for any paying symbol.

Outlaws Inc: Slot Features

Two more critical symbols in Outlaws Inc are the Cougar and the Orc. Start by looking at the top-left of the reels, where the Global Multiplier is displayed. During free spins or extra spins, Cougars reveal values of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 75x, or 100x, which are added onto the Global Multiplier, while Orc symbols multiply the Global Multiplier by x2, x3, x4, x5, x10, x15, or x20. To actually apply the Global Multiplier, a Gorilla symbol must land to activate it. If this happens without a win, the multiplier simply resets. In addition, if multiple Gorilla symbols land together, the Global Multiplier is applied once for each Gorilla that appears.

Star Bar

The Star Bar, positioned to the right of the reels, shows how many extra spins you have in the base game or how many free spins are left in the bonus. When a Star symbol lands in the base game, it awards 1-3 Stars on the Star Bar, with each Star representing one spin. The Global Multiplier does not reset during extra spins.

Bonus Game

The bonus game is triggered when 3, 4, or 5 FS symbols land to award:

• 3 Stars with a starting x1 Global Multiplier.
• 4 Stars with a starting x5 Global Multiplier.
• 5 Stars with a starting x10 Global Multiplier

During free spins, the Global Multiplier does not reset between spins, allowing it to build over time. Two additional box symbols are also introduced. When Star Boxes land, they reveal Star Badges that refill the Star Bar with 1-7 Stars, or empty Star symbols that increase the number of spaces on the Star Bar up to 7. Smile boxes reveal a Cougar, an Orc, or a Gorilla symbol.

Bonus Buy

Hitting the Bonus Buy button, where available, brings up three feature purchase choices. Spending 100x the bet awards 3 Stars and a 1x starting Global multiplier (RTP 96.33%), 200x the bet awards 4 Stars plus an x5 starting Global Multiplier (RTP 96.33%), while 300x purchases 5 Stars and an x10 starting Global Multiplier (RTP 96.34%).

Outlaws Inc: Slot Verdict

After the early, mild let-down that it wasn’t a Western (hardly the game’s fault), Outlaws Inc didn’t hook us as firmly as some of Hacksaw’s more recent releases. It almost felt like Outlaws Inc was a stepping-stone toward Itero or Hand of Anubis, even though it arrived after both. The theme lacks the same loud, confrontational edge as Chaos Crew despite seemingly targeting a similar audience, and the feature set didn’t come across as quite as polished. It can absolutely erupt when it chooses—no question—but there’s a slight sense that Outlaws Inc could have been pushed further.

This isn’t immediately clear from the rules, so to spell it out: the Global Multiplier seems largely inactive until extra spins or the bonus round kicks in. Before that point, Orcs and Cougar symbols don’t appear to have any effect when they land. The paytable doesn’t explain this especially well, so a proper play session should clarify any uncertainty. In practical terms, it’s probably best to ignore the multiplier until extra spins are awarded or the bonus round is triggered.

Once either free spin phase is running, the mechanics click into place. At that stage, every Orc or Cougar that lands contributes its value to the Global Multiplier. Because the multiplier persists then, it can keep climbing until it’s finally applied to a standard line win. Or it might not be applied at all, since without a Gorilla landing it won’t be used. And if a Gorilla does land but no win connects, the multiplier frustratingly resets anyway.

As you’d expect from a Hacksaw title, testing showed the Global Multiplier can climb to some seriously high levels, and Stars during free spins can show up in generous amounts, meaning the initial 3, 4, or 5 free spins may be extended considerably. Not every time, naturally. This is Hacksaw, and they know exactly how to balance temptation with the promise of bigger outcomes. On that note, Outlaws Inc can pay up to 10,000x the bet, and there’s little doubt it can get there when a huge Global Multiplier is sitting on-screen ready to ignite.

Overall, Outlaws Inc delivers some pulse-raising moments and its multiplier-driven potential can be exciting, but it ends up feeling eclipsed by the more compelling work Hacksaw Gaming has put out lately.
