Legacy of Dynasties: Slot Overview
Legacy is a funny concept. Some folks want their name and accomplishments to echo in people’s memories long after they’re gone, while others couldn’t care less. But even when someone does leave a legacy, how well do we actually know them? We might have the biographical basics, yet the real person—who they truly were—often stays elusive. Then again, do we ever fully know anyone? Anyway, getting lost in that kind of headspace isn’t always the sign of a gripping online slot, and Legacy of Dynasties from Play’n GO didn’t do much to keep attention. It’s an expanding symbol “book of” style game, and the studio already has loads of these—like, loads. In a mildly surprising twist, it’s not another Ancient Egyptian-themed entry, though. Want to see what it brings instead?
Legacy of Dynasties goes with an Asian theme, set in a room filled with Asian-inspired ornaments such as a bonsai tree and similar knick-knacks. The kind of spot where you’d half-expect a Mogwai locked away in the basement, carefully protected from bright light, water, and any snacks after midnight. Wrong reference—got distracted. The focus is a 5-reel, 3-row grid, with a helpful bar across the top showing the pay symbols. It looks nice enough, just not in a way that makes you start hunting Skyscanner for bargain flights to Asia to see the “real” thing.

When it comes to win potential for a “book of” slot, Legacy of Dynasties sits pretty low in the rankings—maybe even right near the bottom. It’s not particularly volatile either, landing in the medium bracket with a 6 out of 10 rating. Bets range from 10 c to $/€100, and wins land by matching symbols across any of the 10 paylines from the leftmost reel over consecutive reels. That applies to standard line wins, at least—expanding symbol wins play by different rules.
The symbol set includes J, Q, K, and A as the lower-value card royals, followed by a frog, peacock, panda, tiger, lady, and man as the 6 premium icons. A 5-of-a-kind line with a low symbol pays 5 times the bet, while 5 high symbols return 10 to 100 times the bet. Wild coins appear on all reels and can replace any pay symbol. A full line of wilds awards 200 times the bet.
Legacy of Dynasties: Slot Features

If full-reel expanding symbols aren’t your thing, you may as well start backing out now, because they’re one of the core mechanics in Legacy of Dynasties.
Expanding Symbols
Up to 10 regular symbols (not wilds or scatters) are randomly chosen to be a special Expanding symbol. When Expanding symbols land on at least 3 reels, they expand to cover all positions. Expanded symbols do not need to be adjacent to create wins.
Free Spins
Hitting a scatter on reels 1, 3, and 5 activates the Free Spin Wheel. The wheel then spins to grant 3-10, 15, or 20 free spins. Up to 10 random Expanding symbols are selected on every spin. In the free spins round, landing 2 scatters will trigger Dynasty Spins. These are free spins inside the free spins feature, and they keep the number of possible Expanding symbols from the spin that triggered them. When this happens, players are randomly awarded 3-8 Dynasty spins. Dynasty Spins cannot be triggered within Dynasty Spins. During a bonus round, when the total of free spins (including Dynasty Spins) reaches 70, the round ends.

Legacy of Dynasties: Slot Verdict
Do you reckon Play’n GO ever tires of producing this type of slot? Maybe a little, since Legacy of Dynasties steps away from the Ancient Egyptian setting most closely tied to expanding-symbol games and swaps in Asian-inspired subject matter instead. So, rather than Pharaohs, you get wise men and tigers—but beyond the theme, Legacy of Dynasties is mostly familiar territory. The studio has released a huge number of these titles—Legacy of Dead, Legacy of Inca, Legacy of Egypt, Pilgrim of Dead, Book of Dead, Cat Wilde and the Pyramids of Dead, and the list just keeps going. And going. Unfortunately, serious “of” fatigue had definitely set in by the time Legacy of Dynasties was reviewed.
That doesn’t automatically mean Legacy of Dynasties is an outright disaster in isolation. Anyone specifically after an Asian-themed “book of” slot (not sure how big that crowd is) could find it appealing, since this theme isn’t especially common in the subgenre. The bigger issue is the game’s win potential. With a top prize of 2,300x the bet, it’s among the lowest you’ll come across in this category. Is that a deal breaker? Largely yes, and it’s a shame considering the features are so similar to other “Legacy” games that can reach 5,000x+. Why the reduction? The max win probability isn’t terrible for a Play’n GO release, but it’s not particularly impressive versus some rivals either, coming in at <1 in 100,000,000.
We’re not fortune-tellers reading crystal balls or performing secret rites, but it’s difficult to imagine Legacy of Dynasties leaving much of a genuine legacy. For “book” slots, it’s one of the weaker ones reviewed in quite a while, and aside from die-hard Asian slot fans who don’t mind low win potential—or absolute “book of” completionists—who is really going to queue up for Legacy of Dynasties when there are so many stronger alternatives? That’s a hard one to justify.
