In Le Cowboy, the bandy-legged outlaw takes his rough-edged charm to the Wild West. He’s dressed to match the setting too, sporting a Stetson and spurs so he fits right in with the locals. The frontier backdrop looks pleasing, even if it’s not especially groundbreaking, and it suits the new Le mechanic perfectly—while giving Smokey plenty of room for fun pistol-based animations courtesy of Hacksaw Gaming.

Land 5 or more connected matching symbols on the 6×5 grid and you’ve formed a winning cluster. A super cascades feature then kicks in, removing all matching winning symbols from the grid so fresh symbols can fall in and fill the spaces. Le Cowboy comes with Medium volatility, and from its four RTP settings, 96.28% is the top option. Hacksaw Gaming has also set a lower entry point, with a minimum bet of $/€0.05 per spin, and the maximum is reduced compared to the studio’s usual ceiling at $/€40.

Le Cowboy: Slot Features

The signature Le flavour arrives via Revolver Reveals, supported by three bonus rounds and a set of feature buys.

Revolver Reveals

If a winning cluster contains a wild, the wild transforms into a Revolver Cylinder holding 2-6 shots. Once the cascades finish, cylinders fire in order, striking random positions (and the same spot may be hit multiple times). Cylinders are not wild. Each shot can reveal Coins, Diamonds, Clovers, Loot Bags, or Reloads. Reloads (max 1 on the grid) top up every cylinder back to 2-6 shots. When Coins are hit they upgrade to the next level; Green Clovers upgrade to Gold. Diamonds, Gold Clovers, Loot Bags, and Reloads cannot be hit again.

When no Reloads show up, Coins and Diamonds reveal: Bronze = 1x-4x, Silver = 5x-20x, Gold = 25x-100x, Diamonds = 150x-500x. After that, Clovers activate. Gold Clovers multiply all Coins, Diamonds, and Loot Bags by x2-x20, while Green Clovers apply the same multipliers to adjacent symbols only. Next, Loot Bags gather up all revealed Coin, Diamond, and Loot Bag values. Clover and Reload symbols then disappear, and all shot positions trigger again with fresh reveals. When the sequence is complete, all Coins and Loot Bags pay.

High Noon Saloon & Gamble

Land 3 FS scatters to start this feature with 10 free spins. One important detail is that FS scatters cannot land at the same time as Revolver Cylinders. On activation, players can choose to play the feature or Gamble. If players Gamble, a revolver fires to determine 1 of 4 outcomes – Outcome 1 upgrades the bonus to Trail of Trickery, and players may Gamble again. Outcome 2 awards a Cash Prize worth 1x to 4x the bet, while Outcomes 3 and 4 award 5x to 20x, or 25x to 100x, respectively. Players can Gamble once per bonus, and once again after an upgrade. Trail of Trickery

Hit 4 FS scatters in the base game to trigger 10 free Trail of Trickery spins. As before, players may begin the feature or Gamble, which produces 1 of 8 outcomes. Outcome 1 upgrades the bonus to Pistols at Dawn. Outcomes 2 and 3 award 5x to 20x the bet, Outcomes 4-7 awards 25 to 100x, and Outcome 8 grants 150x to 500x the bet.

Trail of Trickery retains the High Noon Saloon mechanics. On top of that, a Bullet Collector appears outside the reels. Every win adds +1 bullet to the Bullet Collector. On the last free spin, the Bullet Collector activates after all Revolver Cylinders and Reload symbols have activated, prompting Smokey to shoot all of the collected bullets into the reels. Wherever bullets land, they reveal Coins, Diamonds, Clovers, and Loot Bag symbols, setting off the Revolver Reveals sequence. FS symbols cannot land when the Bullet Collector activates.

Pistols at Dawn – Hidden Epic Bonus

Pistols at Dawn’s 10 free spins begin by landing 5 FS scatters in the base game. Alongside Trail of Trickery’s rules, the Bullet Collector becomes progressive. It starts at 5, and it triggers on every free spin after Revolver Cylinders and Reload symbols have activated. After the Bullet Collector fires, it resets to the last collected amount it held before activating. It then continues building again from wins on the following spin. Also, Silver Coins are the lowest Coin type that can appear. FS scatters do not land in this feature.

Le Cowboy: Slot Verdict

The Le series keeps changing over time, yet its core reveal feature has largely stayed consistent throughout, and it can be a spectacle—especially when plenty of Clovers, Loot Bags, and other extras show up. At its best, the game can loop through the Revolver Reveals routine repeatedly, turning up Coins and Diamonds, letting Clovers apply multipliers, having Loot Bags scoop up value, and then sending everything back through the reveal cycle again. It was a genuinely inspired idea when Le Bandit first crept onto the scene in 2023, and the different Le variations since then have been strong too. Some players may have expected Le Cowboy to deliver a deeper technical reinvention, and it doesn’t really go that far. Still, the new additions fit the theme nicely and bring an energetic, shootout-style twist.

The main change is that the original Golden Squares approach for adding special symbols is swapped out for the new Revolver Reveals system that blasts symbols into play. Once you’re used to that, the rhythm feels familiar, and it’s clear why Hacksaw Gaming has largely kept the Reveal portion intact. It can still produce solid returns when Coins or Diamonds start appearing, potentially boosted by multiplying Clover symbols, and then enhanced further when the rarer Loot Bag symbols arrive to kick the sequence back into motion. The Bullet Cylinder element shines most at the end of Trail of Trickery, creating tension for the closing spin—or for every spin if you manage to reach Pistols at Dawn.

On top of that, Le Cowboy lets players gamble for access to higher bonus rounds, which isn’t something Hacksaw Gaming leans on very often. As ever, it can take a generous dose of luck, and upgrading Trail of Trickery into Pistols at Dawn may or may not be simpler than landing 5 scatters in the base game, but having the choice is a welcome inclusion. Plus, gambles always pay something back, even if it’s a smaller bet multiplier. There’s nothing small about Le Cowboy’s overall potential, though, with a top prize of 25,000x rounding off an entertaining Le slot that may not be fully rebuilt mechanically, but introduces new features that make for another lively, punchy chapter in Smokey’s story.
