Grizzly Gold Introduction
It’s difficult not to be reminded of the 2015 western epic The Revenant starring Leonardo DiCaprio when you first see this slot, and to be honest, the bear in Blueprint Gaming’s new Grizzly Gold looks just as furious. Still, there’s no need to worry—your balance is the only thing at risk in this high variance, scatter-teasing game.
Blueprint slots are usually known for their signature random features that can appear in the base game and may or may not trigger after an animation plays. Grizzly Gold doesn’t follow that pattern, though, and compared to most other Blueprint slots, it’s noticeably simple and straight to the point, as you’ll find out.
We expected something loud and thunderous on the audio side, so the calm, almost zen-like soundtrack was a surprise. Visually it’s easy on the eyes too, thanks to the autumn vibe and the magical golden forest background.
In terms of gameplay, Grizzly Gold is a 1024 win-all-ways slot with 5 reels, 4 rows and a 96% RTP. It’s a high variance monster with stakes ranging from €0.20 to €100 per spin, so it’s best played with a bit of caution.
Grizzly Gold Symbols & Paytable
The lower-paying symbols are the usual A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9 royals, while the premium icons are animals found in North American forests, including owls, lynxes, wolves and moose. As the star of the show, the grizzly bear is the top-paying symbol and returns a 6.25 times the stake win when you hit 5 across a payline.
Every symbol can land stacked up to three high on the reels, which can lead to some respectable base-game hits. However, given the very high volatility, most of the real potential sits in the bonus. On top of that, the bear paw symbol acts as the wild, replacing all symbols except the scatter, and it becomes especially important during the bonus round.
Grizzly Gold Bonus

The Grizzly Gold Bonus is the main attraction here, and without it you shouldn’t expect any truly meaningful wins. To trigger it, you must land at least 3 Grizzly Bear scatter symbols anywhere on the reels—3, 4 or 5 awards 8, 15 or 20 free spins respectively. During the bonus, watch the scatters closely, because landing another 2, 3, 4 or 5 will grant an extra 5, 8, 15 or 20 free spins. In theory, it can retrigger endlessly.
The key mechanic in the bonus is the bear paw wild, which becomes a multiplier symbol. It can appear as a 2x wild or 3x wild. There’s a genuine chance to reach the maximum 27x multiplier if you land three 3x wilds. The bonus can pay up to 10,000 times your stake, but winnings are capped at €250,000, which is worth noting for high rollers.
Grizzly Gold Conclusion
Grizzly Gold is extremely volatile, so it’s wise to play carefully. We noticed that, as with many other Blueprint slots, it throws out plenty of scatter teases, which can get a little irritating. The bonus also doesn’t trigger very often, but that’s part of what allows the game to deliver the huge jackpot-level wins it can produce.
For us, the base game can feel a bit repetitive, and we did miss the random features that are common in other Blueprint titles. That said, this time the studio clearly aimed for a no-nonsense, all-or-nothing high variance experience. The bonus round offers some outrageous potential, so if you manage to land those 3+ Grizzly Bear scatters, you could be in for something special.
