Grim Reaper Supermatch: Slot Overview
Across history, different societies have created all sorts of figures and symbols to embody death. One that has endured into the present day is the Grim Reaper, appearing throughout popular culture in comic books, films, and more, typically shown as a hooded being carrying a scythe. As Britannica notes, the Grim Reaper emerged in Europe in the 14th century as the Black Death tore through communities, wiping out around one-third of the population. It’s hard to truly grasp suffering on that scale, yet the image of a cloaked presence cutting a path through the masses feels like a fitting metaphor.
Shifting to something lighter, we have Grim Reaper Supermatch from Games Global partner Nailed It! Games. Grim Reaper Supermatch follows on from Rome Supermatch, and both titles deliver a distinctive twist on testing your luck. This time, players aren’t dropped into a statue-filled, column-lined Ancient Roman scene. Instead, the action takes place in a graveyard: foggy, gloomy, and low-lit, with a female Grim Reaper floating beside the board while a horror-leaning soundtrack hums along. With a faint Nightmare Before Christmas feel, Grim Reaper Supermatch isn’t about sudden shocks, but Nailed It! Games has matched its unusual game engine with a fun, gently spine-tingling backdrop to enjoy it in.

Grim Reaper Supermatch is presented from a slightly low, upward angle, which gives the 5-columned gaming grid a bit more weight and presence. Supermatch titles don’t play like a standard spinning-reels slot. Press spin and the bottom row reveals 5 symbols. Hitting 3 or more matching symbols on the bottom row unlocks the next row. If at least one matching symbol lands on rows 2-5, the next row above it is unlocked. Players can stake 10 p/c to $/€40 per spin and optionally switch on one of two Bet Boosters, covered further down. With medium volatile behaviour, Grim Reaper Supermatch runs at a default RTP of 96.15%, alongside three lower RTP setups.
When rows open up, matching 30 symbols delivers the top result. The pay symbols run from low to high as J, Q, K, and A, followed by a skull, a pumpkin, a Frankentsein’s monster type, and a female character. A 30 OAK win with these symbols returns 400 to 2,000 times the bet. Spreading Wilds can show up on rows 2 to 6 during free spins or in the base game, replacing standard paying symbols for matching purposes. When a wild lands, it expands to cover the entire row it appears on.
Grim Reaper Supermatch: Slot Features

Additional elements in Grim Reaper Supermatch are Mega Respins, the Halfway Bonus, Mystery Stacks, the Soulcatcher Bonus, free spins, and the Bet Boosters.
Mega Respins
Finding matching symbols on the 6th row activates the Mega Respins feature. All matching symbols turn sticky, while every other position respins. Mega Respins keep being granted as long as fresh winning symbols appear on the spin. Mega Respins can occur in both the base game and during free spins.
Halfway Bonus
Hitting a matching symbol on the 3rd row in the base game or in free spins triggers the Halfway Bonus. One of the following outcomes will activate:
- Second Chance – automatically respins one row that did not reveal any matching symbols, or all rows if Mega Respins did not reveal a matching symbol.
- 15 Of A Kind – changes all non-winning symbols into winning symbols on rows 1-3.
- Symbol Upgrade – converts all winning symbols on rows 1 to 3 into a random higher-paying symbol. It can’t be awarded if the top-paying symbol is the winning symbol.
- x2 Multiplier – doubles the symbol win at the end of the spin.
- Soul Booster – adds 1 to 5 Blue Souls to the Soulcatcher Chest in the base game or 1 to 5 Red Souls to the Free Spins Soul Collection during free spins. Not available in free spins if the Soul Collection has been filled.
Mystery Stacks
Dropping 3 or more Mystery symbols on the first row in the base game or in free spins sets this feature off. Each Mystery symbol grows by 1 to 5 positions, creating a stack up to 6 symbols high. Every Mystery symbol then reveals the same paying symbol.
Soulcatcher Bonus
2 to 8 Blue Souls appear across the rows at the beginning of each spin. Uncovering a spot containing a Blue Soul adds it to the Soulcatcher Chest. The odds of activating the Soulcatcher Bonus rise as more Blue Souls are collected. The Soulcatcher Chest randomly triggers the Soulcatcher Bonus, which begins once the current spin finishes. In the Soulcather Bonus, a single spin plays out with a special set of symbols – each row is revealed from bottom to top. When the spin ends, the symbol with the highest count determines the payout. If 2 or more symbols tie on count, the higher-paying symbol is used. The purple gem awards 10x the bet, the yellow gem awards 40x the bet, the red gem awards 200x the bet, and the diamond awards 5,000x the bet. This feature is only available in the base game.
Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols on the first row awards 10, 15, or 20 free spins, respectively. 2 to 8 Red Souls are placed on the grid at the start of each free spin. Revealing a Red Soul position adds it to the Free Spins Soul Collection. Collecting 5 Red Souls awards +3 free spins and removes the lowest paying symbol. A further 10 Red Souls awards +3 free spins and removes the next lowest paying symbols. A further 15 Red Souls awards +3 free spins and removes the next lowest paying symbols. A further 20 Red Souls awards +3 free spins and removes the next lowest paying symbols.
Bet Boosters
The Bet Booster offers two betting modes. Stacks & Moons is priced at 20x the bet, and on each spin, the first row will contain only Mystery symbols or free spin symbols. Always Match ensures 3+ matching symbols on the first row every spin for 4x the bet. RTP remains unchanged whether Bet Boosters are enabled or not.

Grim Reaper Supermatch: Slot Verdict
Overall, that was a solid run. Grim Reaper Supermatch didn’t hit with the same in-your-face surprise factor as Rome Supermatch, and that actually works in its favour. The initial “wow” is dialled back, making it easier to settle in and appreciate what Grim Reaper Supermatch brings without the novelty taking over. The core Supermatch idea—building matching symbols from the bottom row up to the top—remains intact, but the extra features and tweaks Nailed It! Games added here make it feel like a stronger package than the first entry. That’s not to say Rome Supermatch was a weak start, but Grim Reaper Supermatch comes across as more complete, more entertaining, and with feature interactions that land with more punch.
The theme also deserves a mention, and it was refreshing to see Nailed It! Games go with something a little less typical than usual. The Grim Reaper is present, she appears to be female, and she presides over a wonderfully eerie world. As for the mechanics, there’s not much to fault in how it plays. Reaching the third row—where a feature is awarded—doesn’t demand much, although Soul Boosters showed up quite frequently and didn’t feel especially influential in the base game. Red Souls in free spins, however, can be useful for stripping out low-paying symbols and helping you latch onto extra free spins. Getting all the way to the top to activate Mega Respins also wasn’t some ultra-rare, monumental feat, and it could be a good time when it happened. The Soulcatcher Bonus, on the other hand, was difficult to set off, though it’s likely one of the prime routes—if not the best route—toward the 5,000x the bet maximum win in Grim Reaper Supermatch.
Credit to Nailed It! Games for staying the course and delivering another original concept. Grim Reaper Supermatch won’t suit everyone, but ultimately the different parts of the game fit together nicely, with the Supermatch mechanic at the centre tying it all up for a rewarding session once everything was said, played, and scythed.
