Gator Hunters: Slot Overview
Around half a year before this review, Nolimit City jumped aboard the scatter pays trend with Duck Hunters, a hard-hitting slot that paired the hugely popular mechanic with a stack of features, especially the individual position multipliers. Clearly, the studio isn’t finished with scatter pays—or with taking aim at wildlife—because it’s headed back into the great outdoors, fully loaded, and returned with Gator Hunters. As with its predecessor, scatter pays are supercharged by multipliers, only here the focus is a single total multiplier fuelled by Revolver bullet values, plus no fewer than four bonus rounds to chase down those toothy, armoured monsters.
Where Duck Hunters felt like taking potshots from the porch, Gator Hunters drops players deep into the swampy backwoods—think Louisiana, Georgia, or Florida—right in American alligator territory. A quick online check confirms alligator hunting is legal (with restrictions) and can even be a profitable line of work. Among other uses, hunted gators end up as belts, shoes, or meat. It’s likely a rush too—if that’s your thing. If it isn’t, Gator Hunters still lets you play the role of big-game hunter from your sofa; and honestly, the game’s maths can be pretty deadly on their own.

Scatter pays titles are often built on a 6×5 gaming area, and Gator Hunters follows that template. You score a win when 8 or more matching symbols land anywhere on the reels. Winning symbols disappear, then a drop mechanic refills the gaps, continuing if fresh matches form. The hunt starts by choosing a stake of 20c to $/€100 per spin, and being a Nolimit City release, it’s packed with additional ways to push your luck. It’s also highly volatile, with the top RTP configuration set at 96.11%.
On the paytable, boots, binoculars, liquor bottles, traps, and baby gators make up the lower-paying symbols, while four character icons (is that Steve Irwin and Hillary Clinton?) sit at the top end. Clusters of 8-9 OAK return 0.15x to 2.5x the bet, and the largest groups—14+ in size—pay 5x to 60x the bet.
Gator Hunters: Slot Features

Gator Hunters equips players with Eater symbols, Revolvers and multiplier bullets, four bonus rounds, bonus buys, boosters, and extra spins.
Eater Symbol
The Eater shows up one at a time and triggers when there are no wins. A standard Eater removes a random number of symbols along with every instance of those symbols, making room for a drop. After that, it turns wild. The Super Eater behaves the same way, except it gains a multiplier of x2, x3, or x10 when it becomes wild, and that multiplier applies to any win it helps create.
Revolver
Revolver symbols activate when there are no more wins and no Eater symbols. Each Revolver contains a cylinder of bullet slots with multipliers plus empty chambers. When triggered, the cylinder spins and chooses a random position. If it lands on a bullet, that multiplier is added to the total win multiplier, which affects the win on the current spin. Up to 6 Revolvers—matching or mixed types—can appear at the same time.
The regular Revolver spins once regardless of whether it hits a bullet, though it may spin again if a Super Fire Revolver activates it. The Super Revolver spins again when it selects a bullet. The Super Fire Revolver makes all Revolvers that still have bullets spin again if it hits a bullet. Bullet multipliers are Purple x2-x8, Blue x10-x20, Orange x30-x75, Red x100-x500, and White x1,000-x2,000.
Swamp Spins
Landing 3 scatters grants 10 Swamp Spins. The total multiplier is kept throughout the free spins and is applied to wins on spins where a Revolver lands and picks a bullet. During the feature, landing 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters awards an extra 3, 5, 7, 10, or 15 free spins, respectively. Before the round starts, one of these upgrades is randomly selected:
- Extra Bullet x2 – all Revolvers have an additional x2 bullet.
- Extra Bullet x10 – all Revolvers have an additional x10 bullet.
- Super Eaters – all Normal Eaters are replaced by Super Eaters.
- Super Revolvers – all Normal Revolvers are replaced by Super Revolvers.

Frenzy Spins and Gator Spins
Landing 4 or 5 scatters triggers 12 Frenzy Spins or 15 Gator Spins, respectively. Alongside the Swamp Spins rules, Frenzy Spins award 2 upgrades, while Gator Spins award 3 upgrades.
Apex Predator Spins
Hitting 6 scatters triggers 18 Apex Predator Spins, which awards 4 upgrades while keeping the mechanics of Swamp Spins. In addition, the Super Revolvers upgrade changes into the Super Fire Revolvers upgrade, meaning all Revolvers are replaced by Super Fire Revolvers.
Nolimit Boosters & Feature Buys
For 2.5x the bet, players are guaranteed a scatter on reel 2. At 90x, an active Super Revolver is guaranteed, but no other symbols land, and the total multiplier achieved applies to the base bet. Super Fire Spins cost 400x and guarantee a Super Fire Revolver with 5 bullets of different colours, though scatters do not land. Lastly, Massacre Spins cost 1,200x the bet, and all Revolvers are replaced by Super Fire Revolvers featuring 1,000x and 2,000x bullets. From the Nolimit Bonus menu, you can purchase Swamp Spins, Frenzy Spins, Gator Spins, or Lucky Draw for 70x, 200x, 500x, or 250x the bet, respectively.
Extra Spin
After a round finishes, players may be offered the option to buy an Extra Spin, retaining the total multiplier and any Revolvers that still have bullets left. The price depends on the current grid state. The best RTP is reached by declining the Extra Spin.

Gator Hunters: Slot Verdict
Very few studios can bait you, hold back, bait you again, and then deliver a jolt quite like Nolimit City. Gator Hunters shows exactly why. Those Revolvers are something else—either your closest ally or your biggest enemy. Yes, they can land in the middle sometimes, but it’s the huge connects or total whiffs that leave the strongest mark and stick in your mind. Unlike Gates of Olympus‘ active multiplier symbols (it’s almost impossible to cover a scatter pays slot without bringing this one up), active Revolvers might award multiplier values—or might do nothing—depending on whether they hit a bullet or an empty chamber. The result is that Gator Hunters may be a bit intense for casual gamblers. If you’re curious, try messing around with Massacre Spins (in demo) to see just how wild it can get. The swings can be absurd: from tiny returns to, well, stack a few x2,000s and anything can happen. Massacre Spins is the most concentrated, extreme version of the experience, but the rest of the game runs on the same mindset—just not always quite as compressed or as brutal.
Revolver symbols are the ones you’re hoping to land, yet even then nothing is guaranteed. They still have to spin and actually stop on a bullet before any multiplier contributes to the total win. Eaters add a quirky side feature, and wilds aren’t especially common in scatter pay slots. It’s a pity there’s no note about receiving extra upgrades when free spins retrigger, as that could make a big difference. Still, the multipliers on offer can be enormous, reinforcing the feeling that Gator Hunters is extremely volatile—possibly too volatile for typical scatter pays fans who lean more toward games like Sweet Bonanza 1000 or Gates, and similar titles.
The last point is how Gator Hunters stacks up against Duck Hunters. As the saying goes, opinions are like butt cracks—everyone has one—so others may reasonably disagree, but Gator Hunters didn’t land as well as its duck counterpart. To be fair, when Gator Hunters starts piling on huge multis, it’s likely just as exciting as Duck Hunters, but the other game’s individual position multipliers—whether influenced by Sugar Rush 1000 or not—were on another level. Even with all the features, Gator Hunters can feel like a grind, and the audiovisual punch isn’t as gripping as Nolimit City can be, especially the soundtrack, which is surprisingly restrained for the studio. Still, with a top win of 25,000x available, Gator Hunters could suit players looking for scatter pays driven by extreme maths and massive multis.
