Fruit Blox Introduction
It’s a little unexpected to admit, but Red Tiger Gaming is currently one of the more fascinating software developers in the iGaming space. That feels surprising because, before the launch of Laser Fruit, the studio seemed to be caught in a rut, producing fairly formulaic and unremarkable titles.
That period feels firmly in the past. The Red Tiger Gaming of today looks far more open to adapting, improving, and taking cues from players. Yes, they still lean on their familiar 2000x-style slots that everyone recognizes by now, but we’re also seeing genuinely fresh mechanics and a noticeable boost in overall potential.
Fruit Blox is anything but standard and doesn’t resemble a classic slot at all. Not that Red Tiger games were ever ugly—we’ve definitely seen worse—but to us this is a clear visual upgrade. Maybe they brought in new designers; hard to say.
Much like their earlier release, Tiki Fruits, this is another cluster mechanics style game. It features a 6-reel, 4-row layout with 20 paylines and stakes from €0.20 – €10. The top bet is on the lower side, perhaps intentionally capped to keep smaller casinos from taking too much heat.
If we had to sum up the look, it’s like a futuristic fruit disco vibe (yes, that’s our best shot). Visually it’s impressive, with smooth slow-spin effects when winning clusters link up, plus bright light beams streaking across the screen.
Fruit Blox Symbols
In total, the game includes 11 symbols, counting wilds and scatters. From the lowest value upward you’ll find cherries, lemons, oranges, melons, grapes, bar-symbols, bells, stars, sevens, and the wild. The paytable may look a little tricky at first, but wins are worked out as a win all ways system when symbols connect to create a payout. For instance, a full screen of the highest-paying symbol (Sevens) delivers a huge 8192x win.
Also worth noting: symbols can appear in different shapes as tiles sized 2×2, 3×3, and 4×4, sometimes covering nearly the entire reel area. When two or more of these Mega Tiles land next to each other, the win they create is doubled. This allows the base game to produce some very big hits. During our testing, we even landed a 320x win without entering the bonus.
Keeping with Red Tiger tradition, “heart stoppers” can trigger at random—the screen begins to shake and the reels switch into Twin Spin style synchronized spins. When it happens, you might get nothing at all, or it can lead to something strong, like a bonus trigger or Mega Tiles landing.
Fruit Blox Free Spins
The scatter only shows up in tile form and can come in different sizes. How many free spins you receive depends on the size of the free spins tiles—larger tiles award more spins. The Mega Tiles rule is active here too: if two free spins tiles land adjacent, they will double the total spins awarded. The free spins count can swing widely. In our test session we saw anywhere from 2 to 30 free spins, though it likely can trigger more than that.
Right before free spins begin, one symbol is randomly selected to become a wild for the entire feature. The lower the symbol value, the better, since low-value symbols appear more frequently. You can retrigger extra free spins, and each retrigger turns another symbol into a wild. Put simply, retriggers in this slot can be extremely rewarding.
Fruit Blox Conclusion
Red Tiger continues to build momentum, and we’re increasingly anticipating their releases with real interest. Fruit Blox is a lively, entertaining slot packed with unexpected moments, enjoyable features, and—most importantly—a free spins round with enormous upside that keeps things tense and exciting. This one is well worth a try.
