Dynamite Riches Megaways: Slot Overview
After Red Tiger secured a Megaways license from Big Time Gaming, the studio has often seemed happier revisiting earlier titles than fully exploring what the mechanic can do. That’s the case with Dynamite Riches Megaways, a rework of 2019’s Dynamite Riches—a mining-themed slot where players unlocked a set of four modifiers over time. Dynamite Riches Megaways retains that progression system along with the Gold Spins bonus round. For this remake, Red Tiger has introduced a new progressive multiplier in free spins, although, oddly enough, the two releases end up sharing almost identical headline stats.
Much of the presentation is also virtually unchanged, including the setting and overall look. Once again, you’re down in a mining pit with gold glimmering from the rock face. The main difference is the reel setup. Here, play takes place on a 6-reel Megaways grid where each spin drops 2-7 symbols per reel, creating up to 117,649 ways to win. Above the reels sits the feature progress tracker to keep goals in view, while a banjo-driven honky-tonk soundtrack keeps things lively.
Available across devices, Dynamite Riches Megaways uses a math model that, interestingly, mirrors the original’s figures. The default RTP is 95.7%, with volatility rated as medium. The maximum payout is likewise essentially the same at roughly 7,000 times the bet, and the stake range also matches, running from 10 p/c to $/€20 per spin.
With so many additional ways in play, symbol payouts have been scaled down accordingly. The higher-paying icons are lanterns, spades/picks, safety helmets, bags of gold, and the prospector character. Hitting a six-of-a-kind winning way with these premium symbols pays 1.2 to 2 times the stake. For the lower-value end, the game uses clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades. As in the earlier title, there are three wild symbol variants that can appear at different times. Dynamite sticks act as the standard wild, while gold bar wilds and diamond wilds are activated via two of the features explained below. In every case, wilds substitute for any pay symbol to help form winning ways.
Dynamite Riches Megaways: Slot Features
Dynamite Wild symbols are required to open up 4 of the bonus features. Any time a wild symbol lands—whether it contributes to a win or not—it is collected into the Feature Unlock Progress Bar shown above the reels. The four features unlock in a fixed sequence. There are 60 dynamites in total, and once the last feature has been opened, dynamites no longer appear.
The Feature Unlock Progress Bar is divided into four sections, with each section tied to a specific modifier. Every dynamite wild that lands partially fills the current section, and it takes 15 wilds to completely fill one. Once a section is completed, the relevant feature activates on the next spin and can then trigger on random spins thereafter. The 4 features are:
- 15 collected wilds unlock the TNT feature. When triggered, all low paying symbols are removed from the reels for the current spin. If free spins trigger from this spin, low pays will return to the reels for the bonus round.
- 30 collected wilds unlock Golden Wilds. When triggered, up to 10 golden wild symbols land on the middle four reels.
- 45 gathered dynamite wilds unlocks a Multiplier. When triggered, a compass appears and spins to reveal a value of x2, x3, x5, or x10. The awarded multiplier is held until it is applied to the next win. If the multiplier feature triggers before the next win, the multiplier values are stacked up to a maximum of x20. If players win free spins with an active compass multiplier, it carries over to the bonus.
- Gathering all 60 dynamite wilds unlocks the Mega Wild feature. When this one triggers, up to 4 Mega Wild symbols land on the middle four reels. Mega Wilds cover the entire reel and have a multiplier of x2-x7 applied to all applicable wins.
Gold Spins scatters can land on any reel, and seeing 3, 4, 5, or 6 awards 8, 10, 12, or 14 free spins, respectively. Every win during Gold Spins boosts a rising win multiplier up to 20x, which applies to all winning ways. Landing 3 scatters during the feature retriggers +4 additional spins, plus +1 spin for each extra scatter. When the bonus ends, the multiplier returns to its starting value.
Dynamite Riches Megaways: Slot Verdict
If you never played the original Dynamite Riches, then Dynamite Riches Megaways is likely to come across as the more striking package. That’s largely because there hasn’t been any major leap forward between releases. Megaways is far more dynamic than the first game’s 20 fixed betways, free spins now include a growing win multiplier, and Mega Wilds introduce full-reel multipliers similar to those seen in Kulta Jaska Megaways.
Put like that, it sounds as if the remake brings plenty to the table. Yet once you’re deep into the mining action, the two games can feel closer in practice than expected. The core objective is still identical: unlock all four features to access their advantages. This kind of collection-based setup has appeared in several Red Tiger slots and won’t appeal to everyone. On one hand, unlocking each step can be satisfying; on the other, it can make you feel tied into longer sessions rather than quick visits. For context, testing suggested it took roughly 150 spins to unlock features.
What really adds to the sense of familiarity is that the max win hasn’t moved. Not every remake needs higher upside, but with all the extra multipliers in play, it can feel a bit underwhelming if the ceiling can’t exceed what the original already offered. At 5,341x the stake, it’s also on the low side for Megaways overall and probably won’t set the most dedicated players alight.
All things considered, Dynamite Riches Megaways still ends up being an excellent slot. The adjustments do refresh the experience, though they would have landed better with stronger potential to fully justify them. Feature-collection mechanics like this aren’t especially common in Megaways titles, giving completionists something a little different to try. Even so, Dynamite Riches Megaways is a strong follow-up that arguably could have pushed a bit further.
