Conquer Babylon: Slot Overview
In the world of Ancient World-themed gambling, Egypt, Greece, and Rome tend to dominate the spotlight, yet magnificence was found far beyond those borders—and it’s refreshing when a slot developer goes looking for it. One part of antiquity that doesn’t show up as often, but does occasionally make an appearance, is Mesopotamia, the region tied to civilisations such as the Akkadian Empire and Babylon. Push Gaming explored it in Wheel of Wonders, Red Tiger did so in Age of Akkadia, and now Relax Gaming has joined those adventurous studios with the exotic Conquer Babylon.
At the very least, Conquer Babylon is a striking-looking slot, with Relax Gaming’s artists delivering a stylish reimagining of the grandeur linked to one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Sadly, only one of the seven—the Pyramids of Giza—still stands today. As for the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, often described as an impressive set of tiered gardens, we apparently don’t know their exact location, whether they were commissioned by King Nebuchadnezzar II for his wife in the city-state of Babylon, or even whether they truly existed at all. Either way, if they resembled Conquer Babylon’s depiction, they must have been an astonishing sight.

In its standard state, symbols land in a 6×4 gaming area with 4,096 ways to win. That said, extra rows can be added during cascade sequences, boosting the ways count up to 262,144 at peak. From a maths perspective, Conquer Babylon runs at an RTP of 96.1%, and Relax Gaming has labelled the volatility as medium high. With three ante bets available, stake selection spans 20c to $/€60 per spin.
The paying symbols match the overall art direction, as everything is bespoke to the game. From lowest to highest, there are four cuneiform-inspired symbols, four floral-style symbols, and four mythical animal symbols. A 6 OAK win pays anywhere from 0.25x to 3x the bet. Big W symbols act as wilds, substituting for any standard paying symbol.
Conquer Babylon: Slot Features

Conquer Babylon’s feature set feels very recognisable, combining cascades, expanding rows, big symbols, a Coin Game, a bonus round, a super bonus round, Upgrade Spins, and bonus buys.
Cascade Sequence
Winning symbols are removed from the reels after a win. New symbols then fall in from above, and another row is added to the grid to raise the ways to win. This can continue until the grid reaches up to a maximum of 8 rows in height.
Big Symbols
Pay symbols and wilds can appear as sizes of 2×2, 3×3, or 4×4, indicating how many 1×1 positions they occupy. When a big symbol lands at the top and creates an incomplete row, additional symbols drop in to complete the row and fill the grid. Big symbols can also destroy smaller symbols to settle into a level position, increasing the global win multiplier along the way. Big symbols are unable to destroy other big symbols, bonus scatters, or the Super symbol. If spaces open up beneath a big symbol, they are filled with wilds. Any active global multiplier persists through a bonus trigger and resets once the game round ends.
Coin Game
The Super symbol is a 1×1 blocker. When wins occur while the Super symbol is on the grid, the relevant symbol positions are highlighted. If a highlighted area overlaps part of a big symbol, the highlight spread expands to cover the big symbol’s full footprint. In the base game, once wins are finished, the highlighted positions feed into the Coin Game, where they spin to reveal Coins worth 1x to 500x or Coin Game feature symbols:
- Global Multiplier – increases the global multiplier by x1 to x5.
- Row-Column Multiplier – multiplies all Coin symbols in the same row or column by x2, x3, or x5.
- Collector – gathers all Coin values (including Collectors) currently visible and makes the empty positions respin.
Bonus Game
Hitting 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters grants 8, 10, 12, or 15 free spins, respectively. During the bonus game, the global multiplier is persistent until it ends. In the regular and super bonus rounds, landing 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters awards +1, +2, +8, +10, +12, or +15 free spins, respectively. The bonus round can be upgraded into the super bonus round by landing a Super symbol.
Super Bonus
Bonus triggers that include a Super symbol award 8, 10, 12, or 15 super bonus free spins when landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters. Alongside a persistent global multiplier, the highlighted positions and the Super symbol are held until the end of the round before the Coin Game begins. Highlighted positions also determine the minimum height for later symbol drops.
Upgrade Spins & Bonus Buy
Upgrade Spins is the label given to Conquer Babylon’s ante bets. The options are Big Block, which drops big symbols on every drop for 5x the bet, Coin Game Chance for 25x to have a Super symbol on every drop, or Bonus Reels for 10x, which provides a Super symbol on each drop and a much higher chance of triggering the bonus or super bonus, all other symbols are removed. In the bonus buy menu, you can launch the bonus round for 100x or the super bonus for 500x the bet.

Conquer Babylon: Slot Verdict
Ever since Money Train 4 arrived like a precision nuclear strike from orbit, Relax Gaming hasn’t consistently hit those same dizzying highs. Where a fresh Relax Gaming release once had us on tenterhooks, a new RG slot can now feel more like, fine—let’s take a look. Conquer Babylon helps shift that mood, making a strong impression from the moment it appears. It’s undeniably attractive, and while visuals aren’t the whole story, they can set the tone, build anticipation, and deepen immersion. If the real Babylon did exist, hopefully it was as captivating to look at as Conquer Babylon—something that wouldn’t be hard to believe given the remarkable artefacts from the region that have endured to this day.
Beyond the presentation, the real question is what Conquer Babylon delivers on the reels. In that respect, it could be argued it isn’t Relax Gaming’s most distinctive creation, as it feels like a blend of Push Gaming and ELK Studios. Coin mechanics—while not exclusive to Push Gaming—are a notable studio strength, and Conquer Babylon’s Coin Game brought back memories. The reel format and several other elements did too, including the cascades paired with expanding rows, plus big symbols that crush and then fill the spaces beneath them—hallmark ELK Studios-style behaviour. Borrowing ideas is hardly unusual in slots, and Conquer Babylon uses its toolkit effectively—an eight-row tower of Coins being one example—yet it was still mildly unexpected to see these mechanics presented so directly in a Relax Gaming title.
Influences aside, Conquer Babylon is a dependable release, and one of the stronger Relax Gaming slots reviewed in a while. Some of that success may come from feature concepts already heavily proven in other studios’ games, but that doesn’t prevent Conquer Babylon from combining exotically polished visuals with a lively set of mechanics that ensure the gameplay earns its place.
