Cats & Cash originally hit casinos in 2012 and, even though it’s been around for a long time, we struggled to track down any standout wins while researching it. That doesn’t mean big hits have never happened, but we’d honestly be surprised to come across even a 1000x win on a slot that’s promoted with a 5000x max win potential.

Cats & Cash is a 5-reel, 3-row slot offering up to 15 paylines and a 96.07% RTP. You can wager between €0.01 – €75 and use up to 5 coins per line. The theme is a retro TV game show, hosted by two quirky disco cats. Compared to the older release, the main change is the move from Flash to HTML5 (and the visuals), but the cats still come across as dated and a bit cringeworthy.

Cats & Cash Symbols

The reels feature gold bars, diamond necklaces, bankrolls, cool cats, pussy cats (?), luxury cats and nerdy cats, with gold bars as the top-paying symbol at 166x for 5 across a full line. There’s also a wild that doubles all wins (666x for 5 oak), plus a scatter that doesn’t activate any features but pays regardless of paylines. Landing 5 scatters returns 400x.

You’ll see plenty of Bonus symbols on the reels which can lead to one of 2 bonus games, but most of the time they simply get in the way of potential winning combinations.

Cats & Cash Wheel of Fortune

Hitting 3 or more bonus wheel symbols on any active line from left to right activates the Wheel of Fortune bonus. The wheel spins, and if it stops on an orange star segment, you win a prize and receive a respin for another reward. Play’n GO promotes a 5000x max win within this feature, though we’re still sceptical about that claim.

That said, Play’n GO state it has been certified at this max win, so it should be achievable. We just can’t see how it would work unless the wheel can keep respinning indefinitely, or if the max win is presented as a multiplier figure rather than the other wheel prizes being shown as coin values.

Cats & Cash Pick-a-Gift

Landing 3 or more gift box symbols on any active line from left to right triggers the Pick-a-Gift feature. It’s essentially the familiar pick-and-reveal bonus you’ve seen countless times, but styled after game show editions. You choose a box, then uncover the remaining prizes either by clicking each box one by one or using the “reveal all” button, after which your own gift box prize is shown. Play’n GO says this feature can pay up to a maximum of 2000x.

Cats & Cash Conclusion

Cats & Cash is a medium to high variance slot with a 5000x max win potential in the Wheel of Fortune bonus and a 2000x max win potential in the Pick-a-Gift feature, figures we questioned until a player sent us the screenshot below, showing the 5000x max win achieved on a 1 line setting.

Even with that proven upside, it’s not really a favourite of ours, and if we ever felt like spinning a cat-themed slot we’d rather play the classic 243 win ways Pretty Kitty by Microgaming.
