Blinged: Overview
Urban Dictionary describes bling as ‘flashy or gaudy jewellery, named for the sound generated when worn.’ In other words, it’s the glittering gear designed to shout ‘I’ve made it’—though, taken too far, some see it as a red flag for a lack of substance. Opinions aside, jewellery is the main focus of Blinged from Play’n GO, the third entry in a run that began with Pimped and continued with the equally money-minded slot That’s Rich.

If you’ve never tried either of the earlier games, it’s easy to judge them purely by the titles. Even so, the series has attracted plenty of fans—at least Pimped did. That’s Rich didn’t quite hit the same heights. With Blinged, Play’n GO appears to be steering back toward what made Pimped click. The vibe is similar, packed with hip hop nods, and the two games also share closely related mechanics and features. Still, a handful of tweaks make them notably different in a few important ways. Let’s see what sets them apart.
The first thing you’ll notice is the presentation, which leans back into Pimped‘s style. This time, though, the G-dogs have made way for a slick crew of G-dogettes. Played on 5 reels with 10 fixed paylines—fixed being the key word, since there’s none of the single-line madness possible in Pimped—the scene is set downtown on a deserted street, with something resembling New York’s Chrysler Building in the background. You can picture the squad, fuelled by champagne, rolling down Fifth Avenue, popping out of the limo sunroof while onlookers stare at the show.
To get properly blinged out, you’ll need to choose a stake from 10 p/c to $/€100, on any device—ideally a pink diamond Falcon Supernova iPhone. Yes, the $48 million one you can use to scroll your Insta feed. Beyond that, the numbers have generally come down compared to the last two releases. The default RTP is now 96.25%, a small decrease, and volatility has been reduced by a couple of steps to 6/10, or medium. In a slightly unexpected decision, the game’s potential has been cut in half, but we’ll come back to that later.
You can probably guess the direction the symbols go in. At the low end are diamond-studded 10-A royals, set in gold frames. Then come the premium icons: banknotes, gold shoes, gold rings, and three young women, followed by another young woman in a hat. A five-of-a-kind premium win pays between 25 and 75 times the stake. The Rihanna lookalike acts as the wild and is worth even more, paying 100x for five on a line. The wild can also replace any other symbol in the game except the scatter.
Blinged: Features
Anyone who’s spent time with Pimped—and many have, since it’s something of a staple—will recognise most of what’s on offer here. The core feature set is largely the same, even if some details around the edges have been adjusted.
Scatter symbols can land on reels 1, 3, and 5. They’re represented by oversized diamonds—the kind any woman would struggle to refuse if they appeared in a proposal. Hitting 3 diamond scatters together awards 5 Win Spins. Win Spins either produce a win, or they activate respins that continue to retrigger until a win lands.
While that’s happening, every respin boosts a win multiplier by +1. If a respin finally results in a win, the built-up multiplier carries into the next Win Spin. The feature can also be extended. Any time a scatter appears during a Win Spin, it adds one extra Win Spin to what remains, up to a maximum of 20.
A fresh addition is that when players get the dreaded two-scatter tease, they’re rewarded with 1 Win Spin instead of coming away empty-handed. These single Win Spins follow the same rules as the full set of five described above.
The final difference is that there’s no gamble feature. Whatever you win is yours—no option to risk it for more. Some won’t care either way, but players who enjoy taking chances may find the omission a bit disappointing.
Blinged: Verdict
At a glance, the old-school screenshots and a quick scan of the paytable could make Blinged look like Pimped again, just with female leads. And while Blinged shares a lot of DNA with its predecessor, there are enough changes in place to show it’s not simply a reskin.
The differences show up in the details: respins paired with win multipliers are a smart tweak that can pay off nicely. Another major shift is the loss of variable paylines. The extreme volatility that came from playing on a single payline has vanished, like a pile of dollar bills disappearing in a strip club. On the plus side, two scatters now hand out a consolation Win Spin—and who’s going to complain about a Win Spin? It’s cash in your pocket, a sure thing, yo.
Removing the gamble feature also stops Blinged from turning into the kind of high-octane gambling engine that Pimped could be. The other factor is the toned-down math model and reduced potential. It’s a curious choice, considering sequels often push in the opposite direction. Where the previous two games could reach 10,000x, Blinged settles for half of that, with a 5,000 times the stake max.
Ultimately, these adjustments mean Blinged is aimed at a different type of player, potentially with more appeal to a female audience. Put it this way: if the two slots were rappers, one would have grown up in Compton and dropped tracks from a Cell Block 8, while the other learned the ropes on an X-Factor stage, lip-syncing Vanilla Ice’s solitary hit.
