Bananaz 10K Ways: Slot Overview

Much like staking a claim and refusing to budge, developer ReelPlay keeps pushing its trademarked 10,000 ways niche with a release called Bananaz 10K Ways. It’s the third entry in the line, coming after Hypernova 10K Ways and 10,000 Wonders 10K Ways – two titles that didn’t exactly set the world on fire. Now we’re back for attempt number three, again featuring the same number of ways plus another hold & win-style bonus. That said, while 10,000 Wonders felt largely like a copy-and-paste job, ReelPlay has tried something a bit different with Bananaz. So yes, there are familiar elements, but there’s at least a touch of originality this time—let’s dig in.

From the outset, Bananaz 10K Ways has noticeably more personality than the previous two games, mostly thanks to its star, Monkey Mike. The little simian perches on a branch beside the reels, reacting to the spins, chattering away, and on rare occasions setting off his own potentially impactful feature. The setting is classic jungle: dense green leaves in the backdrop, palm trees, butterflies, fireflies, and similar touches. A light, upbeat soundtrack runs throughout, and while nothing screams “must-play” at first glance, there’s a playful warmth that makes it easy to stick around. Visually, it feels closer to their recent success Money Mariachi Infinity Reels than to the earlier 10K titles, which is definitely a plus.

One area these games all mirror is the reel configuration. Each uses a main grid of 6-reels and 4-rows, plus an upper reel that adds 4 extra positions. It looks very Megaways-like—whether that’s intentional or not is up for discussion. The key difference from Big Time Gaming’s system is that ReelPlay keeps the symbol count per reel fixed, meaning you always have 10,000 ways to win on every spin. The math model is also highly volatile, delivering an RTP of 96.1%, which rises to 97% when using the feature buy.

You can play from 20 p/c to $/€12 per spin. As with the other 10K games, wins are formed when matching symbols land on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost reel. A minimum of three matching symbols is required for the lower-value card suit tiles, paying 0.5 to 0.9x the bet for six of a kind. The higher-value fruits, flowers, snakes, and toucan symbols pay between 1 to 5 times your stake for six. The elephant works differently: only two are needed to score a win, and landing six elephants awards 50x your bet.

Bananaz 10K Ways: Slot Features

Money Mike shows up as the wild symbol, though only once the Mike Goes Bananaz feature has been activated. Beyond that, the game includes cascades, a Bonus Respins round, a gamble feature, and a buy bonus.

Mike Goes Bananaz

On any non-winning spin, there’s a chance that Mike Goes Bananaz randomly triggers. When it happens, 1-3 symbols on the grid are changed into wild Monkey Mike symbols that substitute for any standard pay symbol. Each Monkey Mike also comes with a random multiplier of x1-x5, which applies to any win it helps create. If multiple Monkey Mike symbols contribute to the same winning combination, their multipliers multiply together. Monkey Mike symbols never replace scatter symbols, and they do not appear on reel number 1.

Cascades

With the cascade feature, every winning combination is removed from the grid, letting new symbols—and any remaining ones—drop into the empty spaces. Cascades keep going for as long as fresh wins continue to land.

Bonus Respins

Landing 4 or more Banana Bunch scatter symbols activates the Bonus Respins feature triggers. The triggering symbols transform into Banana symbols showing bet multipliers of 1-1,000x, and 3 spins are awarded. During this feature, only Banana symbols or Monkey Mike symbols may hit. When they land, they lock in place and the spin counter resets. Monkey Mike symbols collect the value of every prize symbol currently visible when they appear. The feature ends once all positions are filled or the spins are used up.

Gamble Feature

After Bonus Respins finish, players can choose to gamble their winnings. A wheel split into green and black sections is spun. Winning gambles advance you along a multiplier trail up to x5, while losing gambles may result in forfeiting all winnings.

Buy Bonus

In eligible regions, players can buy a Bonus Respins feature for 100 times the total stake. This guarantees at least four Banana Bunch symbols, and winnings can be gambled after the Respins end in the usual way.

Bananaz 10K Ways: Slot Verdict

We’ll admit we went into Bananaz with pretty modest expectations after the first two 10K games, but it ended up being a surprisingly enjoyable session. That doesn’t mean Bananaz is some standout masterpiece, but given the low bar, it performed better than expected and felt perfectly decent. If you want a cute hold & win game with respectable upside, Bananaz 10K Ways is a reasonable pick. The official description calls it a “core gamblers slot under a soft veneer,” and that’s a fair summary.

To be upfront, Bananaz is a straightforward slot with a straightforward hold & win mechanic. Yes, Mike Goes Bananaz can happen in the base game, but at times it feels so infrequent that a chatty monkey would be easier to find. In theory, if a win included three x5 Monkey Mikes multiplying together, the payout potential could be huge, which helps explain why the trigger is so rare. Even so, we would’ve welcomed smaller single Money Mikes appearing more often. Maybe it just wasn’t our day.

It definitely wasn’t our day with the gamble feature either, which wiped us out time after time. The best result we managed was reaching x2 before dropping back to zero with worrying consistency. Not saying you should avoid it, but for us the gamble feature was brutal. Bonus Respins themselves were more encouraging, although it still felt difficult to come out ahead when purchasing them rather than triggering them naturally. They can absolutely end up massively profitable, though, especially considering the 20,000x max win potential.

Overall, Bananaz 10K Ways comes across as a step up from earlier 10K releases, offering a fun, cheeky monkey theme and some worthwhile reward potential. It’s still a simple game at heart, so it may suit players who want an uncomplicated respin feature, or those who enjoy a tougher buy bonus with the option to gamble after the feature.
