The game board in 7 Clovers of Fortune uses 6 reels with 5 rows each. That said, the far-right reel is reserved for prize values instead of standard symbols. On top of that, prize values can also land in the top and bottom spots of the third reel. This distinctive 5-5-3-5-5 setup creates 1,875 ways to win. Connect & Collect symbols can land on any non-special position across reels 1 to 5. From time to time, they may display a cash value worth 0.4x to 50x the bet. When Connect & Collect symbols land from left to right starting at the leftmost reel, and link up horizontally or vertically, you either receive their shown cash values, or—if the chain extends to one of the special positions on reel 3 or 6—you win the prize shown on the special position reached. In both the base game and free spins, the special positions on reel 3 and reel 6 can contain the following:

• Respins – only appears on reel 3’s special positions. When reached, 5 respins are triggered. During respins, all Connect & Collect symbols from the triggering spin remain locked in place, and all other positions on reels 1 to 5 respin. Any Connect & Collect symbols that hit on a respin remain in place until there are no more respins left. After the respins, the game awards any connections.
• Money Value – when reached by a connection chain, a prize value of 2x to 160x the stake is awarded.
• Add Wilds – when reached by a connection chain, wild symbols are added to random positions on reels 2 to 5.
• Free Spins – when reached by a connection chain after any other awards are paid out, 7, 10, 15, 20, or 25 free spins are awarded, as well as a 2x the bet cash prize.
• Minor, Major and Grand Awards – when reached by a connection chain, the Minor, Major, or Grand award pays 20x, 100x, or 4,000x the bet, respectively.

The pot of gold scatter symbol can appear on every reel. Free spins start either by reaching a free spins symbol with Connect & Collects or by landing 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols, which awards 7, 10, or 15 free spins, respectively. If both triggers apply, the total free spins granted are combined. The Connect & Collect feature remains active during free spins and behaves exactly as it does in the base game. Whenever a connection chain reaches free spins symbols, additional free spins are added in the amount shown on the symbol reached.

Randomly, after any base game spin finishes, the Grand award may be awarded. Also at random, a selection of wild symbols can be placed onto non-special positions. Finally, in the base game, a number of Connect & Collect symbols may be added to non-special positions.

The free spins feature can be purchased for 100x the bet. When free spins are bought, the triggering spin drops enough Connect & Collect symbols to create a chain that reaches the special positions on reel 3 and at least one position on the rightmost reel. For that triggering spin, the rightmost reel is made up exclusively of free spins symbols.

7 Clovers of Fortune: Slot Verdict

The cynical take would be that reworking already middling slots with a cheerful Irish coat of paint is the very definition of creative bankruptcy. After going through 7 Clovers of Fortune, it’s difficult to argue too strongly against that. There are adjustments: for instance, having Connect & Collect symbols occasionally show cash values is a welcome touch; on the other hand, lowering the top end of the Money Value prizes and cutting back the Minor and Major awards is less welcome. Put together, the overall effect feels broadly in line with the previous two C&C slots in terms of fun factor and entertainment.

Some players will be perfectly happy to get another serving of this connect-and-collect formula, and fair enough. But if you’ve played one, you’ve largely played them all, since 7 Clovers of Fortune doesn’t meaningfully refresh the core gameplay. You spin in a bright leprechaun world, cross your fingers that Connect & Collect symbols link into something worthwhile, and then you collect. To its credit, the system does offer some variation—like respins where C&C symbols lock in place, and the fact that prizes can appear halfway up the third reel, which adds a bit of extra incentive. Still, the win potential isn’t exactly a huge selling point, with a ceiling of 4,454x the bet, seemingly relying on the Grand 4,000x prize to get there. This time around, the third attempt wasn’t the lucky one.
