Yeti Battle of Greenhat Peak Introduction
Thunderkick are back with yet another release, and we’re as eager as kids on Christmas to find out what it brings. Thunderkick has been one of our favorite studios to cover lately, putting out some seriously strong titles such as The Falcon Huntress, Pink Elephants and Flame Busters (and yes, we clearly lean toward high volatility). That said, Thunderkick also likes to throw in the occasional low variance game, as seen with Not Enough Kittens and Well of Wonders. Beautiful to look at, but not exactly aimed at hardcore slotters.
Yeti Battle of Greenhat Peak is the name of their newest game. It runs on 5 reels, 3 rows and 11 paylines with a bet size ranging from €0.10 to €100. Instead of following the crowd with a football slot (with the world cup around the corner) or something packed with beaches and palm trees, Thunderkick has gone the other way and launched a winter-themed slot right in the middle of summer.
Yeti is an ape-like creature that’s apparently tormenting the unfortunate ice-carrot farmers of Greenhat Peak. These calm, Bavarian-looking little guys in Lederhosen are getting bullied by a giant snowman for no clear reason, and it’s up to you to stop him…alright, we made that plot up, but it’s not impossible.
Yeti Battle of Greenhat Peak Symbols
There are 11 symbols available in the game – 4 low value symbols, 4 premium symbols, 2 wild symbols and a bonus symbol. The low value symbols are shown as wooden J, Q, K and A letters, while the premium symbols are cherrys, lemons, waterlemons and Yetis. The Yeti and the Wild symbols pay the most, with both awarding a 35x win for 5 on a payline.
Of the 2 wilds, one functions as a standard wild, while the other is a Frozen Wild that only shows up during the Wild Attack feature and the Bonus game. The scatter symbol appears as a frozen carrot.
Wild Attack Feature
2 scatters trigger the Wild Attack respin. Once Wild Attack starts, any wild that isn’t part of a winning payline turns into a sticky wild, and an additional 1-3 wild symbols are dropped randomly onto the reels before they spin again. Sticky wilds remain locked in their positions for the rest of the game round, or until they end up forming part of a winning payline.
Bonus Game
3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols anywhere on the reels activates the bonus with 10, 15 or 20 free spins respectively. In the bonus, every scatter that lands advances the Wild Attack meter by 1 step, and each set of 3 scatter symbols grants an extra random sticky wild for the remainder of the free spins, plus 2 extra spins, until the meter is completed.
When the meter is full, it awards +5 spins. The maximum amount of free spins in the bonus is 31. Any wild that lands during the free spins will stick in place for the rest of the round, or until it becomes part of a winning payline.

Yeti Battle of Greenhat Peak Conclusion
Honestly, it’s not always easy to judge low variance slots fairly when you’re addicted to high variance action. From a production standpoint, though, Thunderkick delivers as usual, so there’s nothing to complain about on that front. The reels spin at a nice tempo, the stop timing feels spot on, and the visuals are excellent. After so many great high variance releases lately, we can let them slide for putting out a more kid-friendly game like this every now and then.
Even if it’s aimed at beginners, it can still be a reasonable choice for a few spins when you’re trying to clear wagering. Just don’t go in expecting massive brag-worthy hits, since the bonus is capped at a 845x max win, which is very low by modern standards. Put simply, hardcore slotters won’t be blown away, and they probably won’t spend much time trying to rescue the Bavarian midgets from that d**k Yeti.
