Worms of Valor: Slot Overview
Pop specialists AvatarUX are back, and this time they’ve dug into the dirt to reveal the online slot Worms of Valor. Alright, that’s a bit dramatic, but the game really does star those wriggly little creatures best known for keeping soil in good shape. Here, though, the worms are far more interested in scrapping it out, brandishing weapons, and firing off cute expressions. Worms of Valor isn’t officially a PopWins slot, yet it uses Popscade, which is, in practical terms, pretty much the same thing—as you’ll see.
From what we can tell, Worms of Valor’s base game takes place in an arena, which is a fitting stage for heroic battles over glory, dirt, or whatever else is up for grabs. Even with the combat theme, the upbeat soundtrack gives everything a goofy, slapstick vibe. Overall, Worms of Valor leans heavily into that comedic style. Similar to Kitty POPpins or, if you stretch it, Critter Pop, it’s focused on cranking up the cuteness while you spin.

The worms may be here to charm you with their antics, but under the hood Worms of Valor means business, running on a highly volatile math model and delivering an RTP of 96%. You can play with bets from 20 c to $/€100 per spin, switch on an ante bet, or purchase one of the four feature buys. The ante bet ups the stake cost by 25% for double the chance of triggering free spins. In terms of layout, Worms of Valor uses a main 5-reel grid plus a 5-position ZapReel above it. The main grid can expand from its starting 4 row size to 6 high in the base game, or up to 8 high in free spins.
A counter on the left side of the reels shows how many ways to win are currently in play, although oddly it doesn’t factor in the ZapReel. The total climbs so high because wins can begin from either the leftmost or rightmost reel—so Worms of Valor pays both directions. At maximum, there can be 118,098 ways to win (including the ZapReel symbols). Symbol-wise, 9-A card ranks act as lows, weapons fill the mid tier, and worm characters make up the highs. When a winning combination lands, the winning symbols are replaced by new symbols and the reel extends. Instead of dropping into the cleared winning spaces, new symbols cascade in from above. Any extended reels return to normal for the next base game spin.
Worms of Valor: Slot Features

Fighting alongside the worms in this battle arena are Popscades, the ZapReel, ZapReel Rewards, boost symbols, free spins, and Xpress feature buys.
ZapReel
Sitting above the main grid is a 5-cell horizontal reel called the ZapReel. Each spin, the ZapReel can land standard symbols along with Zap Reel Rewards. In the base game, rewards may be wilds or cash prizes; during free spins, they can be wilds, cash prizes, MultiPop, or Reel Unlock.
- Wild – replaces any normal paying symbol. In free spins, wilds may also come with multipliers. Wilds appear only on the ZapReel.
- Cash Prize – activates when there’s a winning line on the reel directly beneath its ZapReel position. When triggered, it pays its printed value.
- MultiPop – triggers after landing on the ZapReel, adding a random multiplier to every symbol on the reel below its position. All symbols receive the same multiplier amount.
- Reel Unlock – triggers after landing on the ZapReel, opening the reel beneath its position to its full height.
Boost Symbol
When a boost symbol lands, it upgrades the symbol or reward on the ZapReel. The Boost symbol can’t land on pops. Once it has been applied, the boost symbol vanishes and triggers a cascade on its reel. If it boosts regular symbols or wilds, that symbol receives a random multiplier. If it boosts a cash prize or a MultiPop, the cash value or the MultiPop multiplier is increased.
Free Spins
Landing at least 3 scatters in the base game starts the free spins bonus. Reel-unlocking progress in the feature does not fully reset from spin to spin. Instead, it resets down to the shortest reel height. The bonus includes a global multiplier that increases with each win. If you fully unlock all reels during free spins, you receive additional free spins and the multiplier growth changes.
Xpress
In Xpress, players can purchase a 3, 4, or 5 scatter trigger for 70x, 200x, or 500x the bet. There’s also an ultra-bonus option costing 1,000x the bet, which awards 15 free spins.

Worms of Valor: Slot Verdict
If you’re not completely tired of everything POP-related, Worms of Valor delivers another lively, pop-fuelled ride. It reintroduces the ZapReel seen in titles like LooneyPop and Nugget, along with Popscades from GemPops, which is essentially the same as the standard PopWins approach—except new symbols drop in from above rather than slotting into the exact spaces left by removed winners. Because these games typically run on ways instead of paylines, the difference is barely noticeable. Perhaps the team is simply over the term PopWins, and even a tiny tweak is enough reason to brand it differently. Either way, players don’t appear to be bored of the formula, judging by how regularly AvatarUX keeps releasing them.
Worms of Valor fits that trend nicely. It lands somewhere around the middle-to-upper-middle of the Pop range: playful yet still fairly serious, with several gambling options designed to suit different Pop-style preferences. The features aren’t revolutionary ideas poised to change the world of slots, but they’re the kind of extras that can meaningfully enhance the session. The Cash Prize mechanic, for example, taps into the industry’s Coin obsession in a restrained way. It’s a pity there’s no detail on potential prize values. They looked a little modest, and the overall max win feels slightly low for a Pop-style release—though it still reaches a solid 10,000x the bet.
Sure, nobody truly needed another Pop game—but then again, nobody needs that extra spoonful of Nutella straight from the jar either, and it still somehow disappears. So, if you enjoy AvatarUX’s popping style, Worms of Valor should be an easy one to have fun with.
