The background looks sharper, the purple/pink tint is more pronounced, and the swaying trees add to the enchanted vibe. Stake sizes are set at 20 p/c up to $/€100 a spin. One drawback of the first game was an RTP that could dip as low as 92.46% when linked to the jackpot network. For this remake, Blueprint has improved that to a more respectable 95.5%. Volatility stays firmly on the high side, making the stats a promising opening chapter.

Blueprint has mostly kept the symbol set intact, which helps maintain the connection to the earlier release. The low-paying Royals use the same styling, while the premium icons remain the lyre, glass slipper, castle, and logo. Most symbols pay in groups of three or more, with the exception of the logo, which only requires two matching symbols. Supporting play are two wilds: a regular 1×1 wild and a stacked beanstalk wild that appears only when certain features are running. Both wild types can replace any symbol except the scatter.

The top-paying symbol is the logo, delivering 25 times the stake for six of a kind. The generally modest symbol values are offset by the cascade symbols feature, which allows multiple wins to chain together from a single spin. This happens because winning symbols disappear, new ones drop into place, and the reels keep cascading until no further winning combinations are formed.

• Magic Beanstalk Stacked Wilds: Jack strolls by the reels, tossing beans as they spin. Some sprout while others fail to grow. Any that take root expand upward, filling the reel above with a stacked beanstalk wild. These stacked wilds may also carry multipliers of up to x7.
• Pigs Can Fly: The three little pigs burst into the action and scatter wilds randomly across the reels.
• Golden Arrow Mystery Spin: Drops up to 100 mystery symbols onto the reels. The mystery symbols then transform into matching symbols, which can be anything except wilds or scatters.

The last major bonus is the Fairy Godmother Free Spins round. It activates when 3 or more bonus symbols land, awarding 10 free spins. The golden orbs appear again, and you select one to uncover one of the modifiers listed above – with a much greater likelihood of triggering than in the base game. The feature also includes an unlimited win multiplier that climbs by +1 after every cascade. Importantly, the multiplier carries over between spins rather than resetting, so it can keep building until the round finishes. Players who loved the original will probably fall into one of two camps. Some will feel like their wish has been granted and will be thrilled with the update. It preserves much of the first game’s charm while pairing it with the Megaways engine. It’s undeniably been reworked, but sequels don’t have to be carbon copies. Others, however, may find the overhaul too drastic, disappointed that several features were left behind. The original was packed with extras, and Blueprint clearly had to decide what to keep and what to cut.

There’s a practical reason for those choices. The earlier game’s features could interrupt the pace and make sessions feel slower, whereas the remake is cleaner and runs more smoothly. The trade-off is that Wish Upon a Jackpot Megaways gives up some of its distinctive character. Notably, Rumpelstiltskin’s Deal Maker and Jack’s 1,000x Golden Goose have disappeared. Even so, RTP has improved, and so has the upside. On the winnings front, Blueprint has set a maximum of $250,000 or 50,000 times the stake – whichever comes first.

That means new players can experience Wish Upon a Jackpot in this form for the first time. What should they expect? It’s not the strongest Megaways implementation—animations can feel a bit awkward, and the theme leans a little childish. Still, it’s a solid slot overall, and it’s a remake that wasn’t afraid to risk upsetting fans of the original by making some bold, debatable changes.
