Wildfire Wins: Slot Overview
Microgaming partner Just For The Win cranks up the temperature with a blazing online slot called Wildfire Wins. The title is a solid clue as to what’s in store: lots of wilds, lots of fire, and—if fortune cooperates—some wins along the way. The action peaks in a three-level bonus wheel feature, but for most spins you’ll more often be riding respins with sticky wilds and multipliers while waiting for the main prize-wheel round to arrive.
If you shut your eyes as Wildfire Wins boots up, the punchy soundtrack could easily conjure up swinging-sixties vibes—gangster flicks, bank jobs, and other ultra-cool scenes. Open them again and it’s clear Wildfire Wins is far more standard than those daydreams suggest. Play takes place on a 5×5 grid set against a flaming sun/supernova-style backdrop, while a prize wheel sits quietly spinning at the top-left of the screen. It feels a bit Hot Spin, just without the visual polish iSoftBet typically brings. Outside of the top prize, the wheel itself isn’t especially thrilling either. Overall, without those catchy tunes, it would’ve been tough to feel much excitement about pressing spin to see what Wildfire Wins had to offer.
Hit play and 25 symbols drop into place, forming winning combinations across 50 fixed paylines starting from the far left. Wildfire Wins continues Just For The Win’s habit of releasing high-risk titles, with this one labelled ‘Very High’ volatility. The RTP is variable and comes in three versions, with 96.1% being the most attractive. In theory, a win lands around a quarter of the time, with the hit rate valued at 24.45% no matter which RTP setting is in use. It’s built for all devices, and bets run from 20 p/c to $/€25 per spin.
Looking at the paytable, 10-A card royals make up the lower-value symbols, paying 0.5 to 1x your stake for five of a kind. Above them are four-leaf clovers, horseshoes, sevens, bells, and diamonds. A five-of-a-kind premium line win returns 1.5 to 5 times your stake. A row of five wild symbols also pays 5x the bet. Wilds can land anywhere to replace all paying symbols, and they can also be generated through certain features.
Wildfire Wins: Slot Features
Wildfire Wins can deliver a seriously chunky top payout—provided the prize wheels decide to cooperate. Until then, most of the tense moments (if that’s the right word) tend to come from the Wildfire Respin feature.
Wildfire Respin
The key detail here is that low-pay symbols can appear in standard form or a special fiery form. Any win that includes at least one special fiery symbol activates a Wildfire Respin. During the respin, every special fiery symbol currently showing is transformed into a sticky wild. If a new special fire symbol type lands, it becomes a sticky wild as well, and another respin is awarded. The feature keeps rolling as long as at least one additional special symbol is involved in a win. When all low pay special symbols are activated, a final Wildfire Respin is granted. Any wins from that last respin are boosted by a random multiplier of x2, x3, x5, or x10.
Wildfire Wheels
In the base game or during respins, landing 3 bonus symbols triggers Wildfire Wheels. This bonus consists of three spinning bonus wheels, beginning at level 1. Each wheel contains eight segments showing cash prizes, level up segments, or collect. When a wheel stops on a prize, that amount is paid and the wheel spins again. If it lands on collect, the feature finishes and the total winnings are collected. If it hits level up, players move to the next wheel up. The third wheel contains only prize or collect segments. Level 1 prizes range from 1x to 15x the bet, level 2 ranges from 3x to 100x the bet, and level 3 ranges from x5 to 10,000x the bet. Land the 10k and a cash prize of 10,000x the bet is awarded, ending the feature.
Wildfire Wins: Slot Verdict
Wildfire Wins feels like the kind of slot you’d assume a studio has already made once or twice—a rite-of-passage style game. Yet a look through Just For The Win’s back catalogue shows they’ve mostly steered clear of the classic lucky 7s, horseshoes, and flames-everywhere formula. It’s not exactly a typical JFTW default. Still, they largely make it work in Wildfire Wins, and anyone who enjoys this old-school vibe should find something to like—particularly if the idea of hunting jackpot-style payouts is appealing. That kind of chase is familiar territory for Just For The Win, having leaned on it heavily in their Gold range and beyond.
The studio also has experience with multi-wheel prize mechanics; Deco Diamonds Deluxe is a good example. Wildfire Wins’ wheel setup feels more energised than that, and it comes with a strong top prize. That said, if you don’t hit the 10,000x, the gap down to second place is huge. One nice touch is that consecutive wheel prizes stack up as they’re revealed, rather than awarding only a single result. Add in the decent soundtrack, and there’s at least something extra going on. Most of the time, though, players won’t be anywhere near Wildfire Wheels, which is why the respins are there to keep things moving. They do a reasonable job—sticky wilds, and multipliers if luck really shows up. It’s enough to keep the engine running.
So if this genre isn’t your thing, it can easily feel cheap, a bit nasty, and arguably unnecessary in a market overflowing with similar titles. To be fair, Wildfire Wins does fall into that category. On the other hand, it also ticks the boxes fans of the style tend to want, and there’s a respectable 10k prize waiting at the end of the road—assuming the old-school slot gods decide you’ve earned it.
