Wild Hogs: Slot Overview
Fire up the engines as we tear through… the underworld? That’s the ride Stakelogic puts you on in Wild Hogs, starring a gang of leather-clad pigs on bikes. Odd on paper, sure, yet the theme actually comes together nicely. On the gameplay side, Wild Hogs packs three wild modifiers, a free spins round, a Bonus Trail and a Super Bonus Trail, plus three feature buys. Time to see whether the style and the mechanics mesh.
The base game setting is a bit of a head-scratcher. It looks like a dusty, abandoned stone chamber, with side booths flanking the grid and holding burning… things. What exactly those flaming objects are is anyone’s guess; they’re so vague that guessing feels futile. If you know what they’re meant to be, feel free to share. During free spins, the backdrop switches to something resembling a highway cutting through a fiery abyss—either that, or a glimpse of a future where global warming has turned the world into a blazing heap of ash and embers. Either way, it’s definitely hot.

At the time of writing, it seemed like Stakelogic’s Superstake feature was showing up less often, and Wild Hogs doesn’t include it either. As a result, the stake range runs from 20 c to $/€100 per spin, and there are also three feature buy choices for players who want to jump straight into the action: a Bonus Wheel spin for 100x the bet, the Bonus Trail for 150x the bet, or the Super Bonus Trail for 250x the bet. With highly volatile behaviour, Wild Hogs lists a default RTP of 96.01% on the info screen, though—as is often the case with Stakelogic—lower RTP versions exist too.
The chunky 6×6 gaming grid might suggest a cluster pays setup, but that’s not the case—players get 46,656 ways to win instead. There’s a fairly packed symbol set as well: 12 in total, consisting of J-A card ranks, 4 different skull symbols, and 4 different hog symbols. Hitting 6 royals pays 0.2 to 0.3 times the bet, 6 matching skulls return 0.8x the bet, and 6 of the same hog symbol award 2 to 8 times the bet. Wild symbols land on reels 2 to 6 and substitute for all standard pay symbols.
Wild Hogs: Slot Features

Beyond standard wilds, the game can also drop wilds in via three wild modifiers, alongside extra elements like Bonus Wheels, free spins, the Bonus Trail, and the Super Bonus Trail.
Wild Modifiers
Wild modifiers trigger at random, and when one hits, it applies one of the following effects. Just like regular wilds, they never show up on the leftmost reel.
- Wild Hog General – generates up to 5 random multipliers ranging from x2 to x5.
- Wild Hog Lieutenant – charges across the reels, smashing random symbols and replacing them with up to x3 expanding wilds.
- Wild Hog Sergeant – hurls land mines onto the grid, turning reels into fully expanded wilds.
Bonus Wheel & Super Bonus Wheel
Hitting 3 scatter symbols on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 activates the Bonus Wheel, while landing 4 scatters activates the Super Bonus Wheel. The Bonus Wheel can award free spins, the Bonus Trail, or the Super Bonus Trail. The Super Wheel improves the odds of landing the Super Bonus Trail or free spins with higher values.
Free Spins
The wheels can award a random number of free spins ranging from 6 to 15. Other than the official background change, free spins play the same as the base game. Landing 3 or 4 scatters triggers the Bonus Wheel again.
Bonus Trail & Super Bonus Trail
The trail features unfold in an entirely different play area. Here, the action revolves around a trail where players move along collecting multiplier values, and it starts with 3 lives. Each round, a number is revealed, moving the player’s token forward by that many spaces. Landing on a number adds this value to the overall bet multiplier win bank. Landing on the same position twice loses a life. Once all lives are gone, the multiplier bank total is paid out. Landing on a mystery symbol spins the Golden reel, which can reveal one of the following:
- Three Hearts – restores one life. This outcome won’t appear if all lives are currently active.
- Three Golden Hand Grenades – boosts the value of 3 trail positions by x2 to x100. In the Super Bonus Trail, this value is applied to three random positions at the start of each move.
- Three Golden Hogs – resets the trail and clears all marked-for-death positions.
- Three Treasure Chests – instantly pays a multiplier of x10 to x500. In the Super Bonus Trail, this becomes persistent and is awarded again on every game round.

Wild Hogs: Slot Verdict
One of the first reactions after trying Wild Hogs was: wait, this feels like Dead Man’s Trail—but with pigs, motorbikes, and a hellscape. Strange, yes, but it’s the fun kind of strange, with plenty of leather, rock ’n’ roll attitude, and scorched rubber vibes. Naturally, the themes aren’t the same at all—pirates on one side, unruly porcine bikers on the other. Visually, Wild Hogs has more in common with Reflex Gaming’s Hell’s Hogs, though Stakelogic’s version felt more engaging, with stronger graphics and a more immersive presentation.
That said, free spins seemed to subtract more than they contributed. Free spins are always welcome, but here they don’t bring much that’s unique, and any RTP allocated to them might have been better invested into the Bonus Trail and/or Super Bonus Trail instead. It’s also worth noting that neither trail reaches the sophistication of the Dead Man’s Trail bonus game, nor does it match the same win potential. Where Relax Gaming’s slot can soar up to 50,000x the bet, Wild Hogs settles for a respectable—though arguably modest—maximum win of 5,000x the bet. The trails aren’t totally simple, with extra twists from mystery positions, and the persistent payouts from landing three treasure chests can be a nice touch.
Even with echoes of other titles, Wild Hogs still stands on its own and can hit with real force. Put differently, the Bonus Trail and Super Bonus Trail feel like going into a fight with a heavy, blunt weapon, while Dead Man’s Trail wields a finely crafted rapier—so the upside is that trail riders get something a little different to take for a spin.
