Wild Elements (Red Tiger): Overview

When we first encountered Wild Elements, its quirky layout and unusual presentation immediately caught our attention. At first, the slightly messy look left us a bit puzzled, and it took a few minutes to figure out the paylines and the odd-looking symbols, but it soon became clear that everything is actually pretty simple. To be fair, this kind of unconventional setup isn’t completely new to us. In Flower Fortune Megaways, launched just a few weeks earlier, Fantasma Games uses a comparable style.

In this 7-reel, 30-payline slot from Red Tiger partnering studio Royal 7, you step into an enigmatic world governed by four mythical figures tied to the four elements – earth, water, air, and fire. You’ll want these stunning weather goddesses on your side, because they can call in fully stacked, mega-sized wilds during the base game. The action ramps up further in the Mystic Spins free spins feature, where those mega wilds can become Possessive wilds that convert premium symbols into wilds. With some luck, you may also see the Fortune Goddess, who can award extra free spins or win multipliers. Whether on desktop or mobile, this strange realm is accessible with stakes ranging from 10 cents per spin up to 20€.

Interestingly, Wild Elements shares the same issue seen in Fantasma’s slot. While it’s less noticeable here, the reel area still feels a bit small compared to the large background space. The backdrop itself doesn’t seem to have received much attention, coming across as little more than blurred sunset clouds (though the bonus visuals are a clear step up). As a result, Wild Elements can look somewhat plain, helped along by the generic symbols that all appear super seized (1×3). The low-value symbols are the four standard elements, each etched with card suit symbol carvings. Premium symbols are represented by air, water, earth and fire, with fire being the highest payer, awarding 10 times your stake for 7 across a full payline. The four elements also serve as the wild symbol, each displayed as a 2×6 mega symbol spanning two entire reels.

Free spins feature in action

Since the base game offers no features to lean on and the max payout there is only 300x, the experience really hinges on the Mystic Spins Free Spins feature. To trigger it, you must land three or more mystic spins scatter symbols on the reels at the same time – awarding a random number of free spins in classic Red Tiger style. Before the free spins begin, you choose one element: Air Spirit, Water Nymph, Earth Guardian or the Fire Empress. Once the feature starts, all premium symbols are converted into the one linked to your chosen element. Your selection also influences volatility, because the fire symbol, for instance, pays more than the air symbol but shows up less often.

That’s not the whole story, though. If the 2×6 wild lands fully visible on the reels, it turns into a Possessive Wild and changes all premium symbols currently on screen into wilds. On top of that, a Sphere of Fortune symbol may appear on any spin, summoning the Fortune Goddess, who will either award up to 5 extra spins or increase your win multiplier by up to 3x. The Fortune Goddess can show up multiple times during the feature, meaning you could collect lots of extra free spins or build a win multiplier with no limit.

Wild Elements (Red Tiger): Verdict

Wild Elements is a high-volatility slot where the free spins are the main event. The real objective is to bring in the Fortune Goddess and hope she increases your win multiplier, giving you a chance at genuinely big results, as the game can produce wins of over 5000 times your stake. All in all, Wild Elements looks solid enough and we found it fairly engaging. That said, the base game felt a little dull, harsh and extremely unforgiving, since there’s nothing there to help sustain your balance.

That’s especially concerning because the free spins were quite difficult to trigger (which isn’t particularly typical for a Red Tiger title). In our first test run, it took more than 900 spins to activate the bonus (possibly more, as we stopped counting). So, it’s best to be careful. Wild Elements isn’t Red Tiger’s strongest release, but it’s not their weakest either. If you enjoy high volatility with high upside, it’s certainly worth checking out.
