Wild Cats Multiline (Red Tiger): Overview
Which studio would you expect to deliver a cat-themed slot if not Red Tiger? Still, sharing a name with a big cat doesn’t automatically guarantee a standout game. The feline setting wasn’t what drew us in, though. Marketed as a Multiline slot, we wanted to see what was supposedly so distinctive that it warranted a trademark.
Once it’s explained as a system where “each spin may result in between 2 and 7 rows of symbols“, it quickly becomes apparent that this is another bold Megaways-style offshoot arriving from every direction. Here it’s “Multiline“, with Play’n GO it was “Payways” (a reference later dropped), and from Red Rake Gaming you’ll soon be hearing about “Millionways“. While it’s strongly linked with it today, randomly generated rows and paylines aren’t exclusively a Megaways invention. Other studios, including Aristocrat, were using similar ideas long before Big Time Gaming introduced its famous mechanic. With that in mind, Red Tiger should be on safe ground. Oddly enough, since Red Tiger is among the providers that have obtained a Megaways license, it’s a little puzzling to see them pushing their own alternatives too, like the Power Reels series and now the Multiline mechanic.
Wild Cats Multiline is a 6-reel slot that can expand to as many as 49 paylines at full size. The base game is essentially a bonus chase with not much thrill on its own. Instead, the action is concentrated in the free spins round, where wilds trigger cascading symbol re-spins. Whether you’re on desktop or mobile, you can head to the African Savannah and spin from 10 cents to 40€ per spin.
In terms of presentation, Wild Cats Multiline is fairly standard and looks much like other slots that have used this kind of theme before. It’s serviceable, but it definitely leans generic. The Savannah sunset scenery is pleasant enough, though the rippling water and the occasional birds crossing the screen don’t add much energy to what still feels like a static, wallpaper-style background. That may be because the foreground grass doesn’t seem to react to the wind at all, staying completely still. On the reels you’ll find five low-paying card suit symbols, alongside higher-paying caracals, leopards, panthers, and tigers (neither panthers or tigers exist in Africa by the way). The tiger sits at the top, paying 6 times your stake for 6 on a full payline. The lion acts as the wild, substituting for all symbols except the scatter, and it pays 50 times your stake if you hit a wild line.
Wild Cats Multiline (Red Tiger): Features

The base game is largely about watching the paylines shift between 4, 9, 16, 25, 36 or 49. There aren’t any features to take advantage of and there’s little reason to expect big hits here, so everything hinges on the Royal Spins Free Spins feature. It triggers when three or more scatter symbols land at the same time.
A random number of free spins is awarded (more scatters means more free spins), and the wild symbol becomes the key element, so it’s worth paying close attention to it. Each time it lands, one random symbol is entirely removed from every position, after which a symbol drop occurs to fill the empty spaces. Up to 10 wild Lions can be visible during a single spin. Overall, the free spins round can pay up to 2000 times your stake.
Wild Cats Multiline (Red Tiger): Verdict
Wild Cats Multiline is an average slot with average visuals and average play. The base game doesn’t bring much to the table, and the Royal Spins feature isn’t really built for massive, explosive wins, though it can still build into a respectable return if you manage to set off those chain-reaction re-spins.
The Multiline mechanic doesn’t come across as particularly fresh either, especially now that so many providers are producing Megaways-like clones one after another. It’s not a complete miss, but it may be better suited to a bigger, more notable Red Tiger release down the line.
Don’t Miss
If you’re after a more volatile cat-themed slot with a bit more ‘bite’, take a look at Big Time Gaming’s King of Cats Megaways. With potential wins of over 50,000x in a single spin, King of Cats Megaways is the first title to use Big Time Gaming’s Playerselect mechanic, letting you play the game in two different modes.
