Well of Wishes (Red Tiger): Overview
Well of Wishes is an Irish-themed slot produced through Red Tiger’s partner program and built by their in-house collaborators R7 — a team Red Tiger has even described as a “development lab.” We haven’t dug deeply into the studio beyond a few Google searches, but R7 seems to keep a low profile with very little public information available. Still, the important point is that, compared with many other independent partner studios, R7 has managed to put out a steady run of solid titles. Their debut, Devil’s Number, was a confident first step with a distinctive theme and fun mechanics, so they certainly started on the right foot.
Well of Wishes is R7’s second release, and this time they’ve chosen a more familiar theme. Set in leprechaun territory, the game uses a classic setup of 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 paylines. Slightly disappointing is the RTP, which sits a bit under the usual benchmark at 95.66%. Whether that’s a deal-breaker is hard to judge without extended play, but as anyone who enjoys Novomatic machines knows, a game can still be worth it if the entertainment value is there. In any case, as with Devil’s Number, there’s a symbol transformation mechanic here — only instead of merely boosting symbols to higher-paying ones, this feature converts them straight into wilds. With stakes adjustable between 0.10 and €/$20, the slot is available across all devices, including mobiles and tablets.
As expected, the visuals lean heavily into the classic “luck of the Irish” palette, meaning plenty of pink and green. There are a few weaker elements, like the somewhat lifeless, wallpaper-style background that looks like it could have been lifted from aunt May’s gardening website. Thankfully, the reel frame — gold-trimmed with a subtle Celtic vibe — looks much nicer. The symbol set also sticks closely to the Irish slot formula. Alongside the usual card suit icons, you’ll find higher-paying clovers, horseshoes, moneybags, and rabbit feet — with the rabbit feet topping the chart by paying 30 times your stake for five across a full payline.
Well of Wishes (Red Tiger): Features

During the base game, Lucky Coins can appear on any spin. They function as wild symbols, and each one is also collected into a progress meter shown above the reels. Once 5 coins have been gathered, they’re dropped into the Well of Wishes, which then selects a random symbol (from those currently visible) and transforms it into wilds (for that spin). The well can also award a second symbol to be turned into wilds, which seems to occur at a rate of roughly 1 in 10-15 times.
Well of Wishes really revolves around the Free Spins. This feature triggers when 3 or more Lucky Spins symbols land anywhere in view on the reels. If fewer than 3 appear on a spin, the scatter symbols will stay locked for the next spin, giving you another opportunity to activate the bonus.
You begin with 10 free spins, and the Lucky Coins mechanic is active here too, with the extra advantage that any symbol converted into wild will stay that way for the entire feature. In addition, any coins collected during the base game carry into the bonus, where collecting five will award extra spins. Certain symbols — rabbit feet, for instance — can show up stacked, meaning that if they’re transformed, you could end up with fully stacked wild reels. If you succeed in turning every symbol into wilds during the round, you’ll receive 300 times your stake wins on each remaining spin. In simulation, the highest payout recorded was 5499.9x.
Well of Wishes (Red Tiger): Verdict
All in all, Well of Wishes is another strong entry from R7. The audiovisual side isn’t especially thrilling, but it avoids the worst of the cookie-cutter atmosphere that many slots in this niche tend to suffer from. The collection mechanic gives some character to an otherwise fairly plain base game, while the free spins round — which can be tough to reach due to its relatively low trigger frequency — is the main attraction that ultimately makes the game worthwhile.
For a title coming from an independent studio, Well of Wishes stands well above a lot of the filler content that even established providers often push out. The graphics are generally up to standard, the music suits the theme nicely, and most importantly, the game offers strong potential.
