Vikings Go To Valhalla: Slot Overview
They’ve been savage, gone berserk, and even taken a trip to hell—now Gunnar and the gang head for one of the ultimate Viking endgames: Valhalla. This legendary hall in Asgard is ruled by Odin and is said to be where half of those who fall in battle are taken, escorted by Valkyries at the moment of death. Once there, warriors perform heroic feats by day, then are restored at night, ready to repeat the cycle. If you’ve played earlier Vikings Go titles from Yggdrasil, you’ll already expect plenty of combat. In Vikings Go To Valhalla, the heroes battle the snake king Jormungandr for the chance to become sticky wilds, alongside mechanics like Rage Collections, Berserk Respins, two Free Spin rounds, and a Ragnarok Wheel.
Judging by Vikings Go To Valhalla, Valhalla itself sits in a stark, icy mountain setting—though the sort of fighters who earn a place there probably won’t mind the cold. Four examples of these hard-as-nails warriors are shown beneath the reels, and fans of the series will be pleased that Rage Meters make a return. The visuals may not be quite as intricate as Vikings Go Berserk Reloaded, but the familiar series feel is intact, with plenty of fresh additions tucked in to explore.
As with earlier games in the line, Vikings Go To Valhalla runs on a 5-reel, 4-row layout with 25 fixed paylines paying left to right. You can play on any device, and the stake range runs from 25 p/c to $/€50 per spin, with three bonus buy options available for eligible players. Yggdrasil has left volatility high and the upside strong, while the RTP is set at 96%. The hit rate is 21.73%, and most of those wins come from lower-value symbols—so filling Rage Meters won’t happen constantly.
The low-value symbols are four different coloured coins, and landing five on a payline returns 1.4 to 2 times the stake. Above those are the four Viking character symbols, where five across a payline pays 6 to 10 times the bet. Finally, wilds, in whichever form they appear, replace all standard paying symbols.
Vikings Go To Valhalla: Slot Features
Vikings Go To Valhalla caters to different play styles, from players who enjoy collection-based progress to those who’d rather purchase a bonus and jump straight into the action. Here’s what’s included.
Viking Battles
During any non-base game spin, whenever Viking symbols hit, they fight Jormungandr. If the Viking wins, they turn into a sticky wild for the remainder of the specific feature. If they lose the fight, they stay as regular paying symbols. Vikings in Berserk mode always win their fight.
Rage Meter & Berserk Respins
Each Viking comes with its own Rage Meter. Hitting winning combinations of 3, 4, or 5 Viking symbols in length adds 1, 2, or 3 points to that Viking’s meter, respectively. Once a Viking reaches 16 Rage Points, Berserk Respins are triggered. The Viking that triggered respins remains Berserk for the entire feature. Respins keep re-triggering until no battles are won or if every position becomes a sticky wild. When starting out, new players begin with 8 Rage Points on one Viking.

Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 free spin symbols in the base game awards 7, 14, or 21 free spins. Before they start, a special set of reels spin to award up to 4 extra bonuses. Possible bonuses include a random Viking in Berserk mode, 1-2 extra free spins, a sticky wild in a random position, a sticky wild reel, or extra chests on reel 5.
Ragnarok Wheel
After free spins finish, players get to spin the Ragnarok Wheel. It features 6 reels made up of black and gold segments, each spinning independently. If the outer reel stops on a gold segment, the next inner reel spins. Landing gold on all 6 levels triggers Ragnarok Free Spins. If a reel lands on black, that segment turns gold, improving the odds for the next attempt.
Ragnarok Free Spins
When Ragnarok Free Spins are won or bought, you receive 7 free spins with an x1 multiplier. In this mode, all four Vikings are in Berserk Mode for the full feature, meaning they always win battles and become sticky wilds whenever they land.
Treasure Chest
Treasure chest symbols appear only on the rightmost reel and may land during any part of the game:
- When one lands in the base game, players can win 2x-500x the bet, 7-21 free spins, or Ragnarok Free Spins.
- If it lands in free spins, players can win 2x-500x the bet, 2-4 extra free spins, random wild reel, or an extra wild.
- If the chest hits in Ragnarok Free Spins, players collect 2x-500x the bet, 2-4 extra free spins, or +1 to the win multiplier.
Buy Bonus
Using the Buy Bonus button (where available) gives players three options. For 7x the bet, you can purchase a spin on the Ragnarok Wheel; 80x the bet buys regular Free Spins; and 330x the bet awards Ragnarok Free Spins. After bought free spins or Ragnarok Spins end, players spin the Ragnarok Wheel.

Vikings Go To Valhalla: Slot Verdict
Yggdrasil’s Vikings Go series is among the best-known Norse-themed slot collections, and after spending time with Vikings Go To Valhalla, it’s easy to understand the appeal. The developer has reinstated elements that made earlier instalments so fun, while layering in new ideas that should keep series fans engaged. Vikings Go Berserk Reloaded famously dropped Rage Meters, and although that didn’t ruin the experience, it’s satisfying to have them back. More interestingly, Rage Meters now feed into a different outcome, while the big long-term draw is the promise of Ragnarok Spins.
With that approach, a more grind-focused progression has returned, which will be exciting for some players and off-putting for others. It’s not pure slog, though, because filling Rage Meters activates respins—although building a truly strong sticky-wild setup may be challenging. Standard Vikings can still defeat Jormungandr, so it’s far from hopeless. Even with the fun detours of free spins and respins, the real objective is forcing your way into Ragnarok Free Spins. In theory, you can reach it naturally, but unless fortune is on your side, it may take a long time. Since the Ragnarok Wheel is only spun after free spins, and you need all six reels to land gold segments, it’s a tough ask. Before long, buying Ragnarok Free Spins became hard to resist. With all four Vikings in Berserk mode, the grid can quickly fill with sticky wilds and produce repeated bursts of wins. Still, even full screens of the best premium symbol aren’t hugely lucrative, and boosting the win multiplier isn’t straightforward either—so reaching Vikings Go To Valhalla’s max multiplier 23,634x the bet is a serious challenge, though a satisfying one if you get there.
Even though the return of Rage Meters nods to classic Vikings Go design, Vikings Go To Valhalla still feels like its own beast. If you’re avoiding bonus buys, it’s worth settling in, as there’s a strong chance you’ll need significant time and persistence to reach the game’s standout moments. That said, there’s plenty to enjoy on the journey—Berserk Respins, Treasure Chests, and constant Ragnarok Wheel teases—making Vikings Go To Valhalla another highly entertaining entry in the series.
