Base Game Demon Fights

Level 1 Free Spin mode

This Free Spin mode starts by collecting 3+ Free Spin symbols or by winning a Free Spin trigger from the base game treasure chest. In this Free Spin mode, every Viking symbol that lands will battle a demon. If the Viking wins, it awards 1 Rage point and transforms into a wild. All wild symbols in the Free Spin mode are sticky. Free Spin symbols do not appear in any of the Free Spin modes.

The Lord of Chains

The Lord of Chains shows up at the end of any spin where at least 1 Viking symbol appears (Until he is defeated by getting 3 hits). He selects a random Viking to fight. If the Viking lands a hit on The Lord of Chains, it turns into a sticky wild and 1 health bar is removed from The Lord of Chains. Beating The Lord of Chains awards level 2 Free Spins, which are played after the level 1 Free Spin mode ends. For the remaining Free Spins, the player is given 2 random wilds and all Vikings automatically win their fights against the regular demon.

The coin value for this Free Spin session is calculated as the average of all spins where rage points were collected.

Level 2 Free Spin mode

Vikings Go To Hell is a medium to high volatility slot with an RTP of 96.1% and a top win potential of roughly 3,000 times the stake. Visually it’s excellent, and it’s fair to say it delivers one of the strongest intros we’ve seen in any online slot.

That said, in slot games the presentation doesn’t matter if the underlying maths don’t deliver. On our first try we hit an 800x win, but after that it repeatedly wiped the balance. To really get value from it, you generally need to reach the second level bonus, and even then the final boss has to be beaten to activate the multiplier, which is where the biggest upside sits.

There’s a lot going on here, with plenty of mechanics, so it should keep most players engaged for a while. We did find, however, that the returns felt limited. The chests kept handing out the same standard coin prizes, the scatter demon fights often produced wilds that didn’t connect, and bonus rounds didn’t show up very often.

We’re sure it will see plenty of play and that some solid wins will appear, but honestly, the potential doesn’t feel as strong as it should in our view, and this game seems far more likely to destroy your balance than to leave you in profit.
