A few months back, Iron Dog Studio reached out and asked us to take a look at an upcoming video slot. At the time, we dismissed the idea, assuming it would be yet another run-of-the-mill release from a relatively unknown developer. While it’s certainly not a poor slot, Viking Wilds isn’t the kind of game that’s likely to earn Iron Dog Studio major recognition. The story feels thin, the feature set doesn’t break new ground, and the visuals come across as fairly straightforward. Still, it has a few clear strengths. It plays very well and runs smoothly without irritating interruptions. On top of that, the 96% RTP is solid, and the 6000x max win potential alone makes it worth trying for a few spins.

Viking Wilds probably won’t be the big breakthrough Iron Dog Studio is aiming for, but it’s definitely polished enough to position the studio as a credible contender. The next step is proving itself in real-world play. Whether the potential is truly there or mostly marketing is something we’ll have to wait and see.
