Trophy Fish: Slot Overview
Online gambling can feel a bit like life on a tiny island: the ocean is always nearby—or at least a sea of roughly 500 fishing slots. As though the genre needed another, software provider Red Tiger has released one more called Trophy Fish. Yes, it’s another title where Fish money symbol values pay out when they land alongside a Fisherman collector symbol. Still, even with this well-worn setup—popularised by series like Big Bass Bonanza and Fishin’ Frenzy—its strong win potential and a few rule tweaks give Trophy Fish a more distinctive edge than you might expect.
Unless a studio has a true pixel Picasso on hand or a real urge to break the mould, fishing slots often end up looking like dozens of others. Trophy Fish follows that pattern: it looks perfectly decent, but it doesn’t rise above the pack visually. You’ll find bubble-framed reels, blue water, coastal scenery, a fisherman, and plenty of fish. As mentioned, it’s all fine to look at—just not especially unusual.

While collecting money symbols is the main attraction, Trophy Fish also pays for standard line hits—matching symbols landing from the leftmost reel across its 20 paylines. The layout uses a 5×3 reel grid, and you can set your wager anywhere from 10 c to $/€4 before spinning. The default RTP is 95%, and the slot runs on a highly volatile math model.
The paytable features 10-A royals plus a hook, a net, a reel, a bag, and a boat. Landing 5 OAK returns 2.5 to 3 times the stake for 5 royals, while 5 matching premium symbols on a payline award 5 to 50 times the stake.
Trophy Fish: Slot Features

A key character in Trophy Fish is the Fisherman Wild. This wild only appears in the middle position of the middle reel, and it substitutes for all paying symbols. Whenever the Fisherman Wild is present, he catches all Fish symbols on the reels and pays out their values.
Fish Symbols
Fish symbols arrive carrying monetary values. They can land anywhere except the exact centre position. When a Fish lands, it locks in its position for 2 spins. Any new Fish symbol also resets the lock counter of all other Fish symbols back to 2. Locked Fish symbols are unlocked once the Fisherman catches them. Various types of Fish symbols can appear:
- Cash Fish – Cash Fish award instant prize values as bet multipliers. Possible values are 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, or 10x the bet. Their total is paid when collected by the Fisherman.
- Trophy Fish – Trophy Fish are the high-value win symbols and come in four types: Blue Trophy Fish – 50x; Green Trophy Fish – 100x; Red Trophy Fish – 250x; Purple Trophy Fish – 1,000x.
- Golden Fish – Along with sharing the same possible values as Cash Fish, collected Golden Fish boost the prize multiplier shown above the reels. Up to 4 Golden Fish can land at once. The prize multiplier is applied to the combined value of all collected cash prizes. Catching 1, 2, 3, or 4 Golden Fish awards a multiplier of x3, x5, x10, or x20, respectively.
Free Spins
Every Free Spins Fish collected by the Fisherman grants 8 free spins. In the free spins round, the Fisherman Wild is locked in position in the centre of the grid for the full duration, collecting any fish symbols that land. Each Free Spins Fish collected adds another +8 free spins. During the bonus, the prize multiplier gained from catching Golden Fish stays active for the entire feature and applies to all Fish prizes collected by the Fisherman. Up to 4 Golden Fish in total can appear during free spins, increasing the multiplier in the same way as the base game.

Trophy Fish: Slot Verdict
Hate to be “that person,” but heading into yet another fishing-themed slot—this time from Red Tiger—didn’t exactly set the pulse racing. That said, Trophy Fish ended up being better than expected. To be clear, it doesn’t reinvent the fishing slot genre the way Big Bass Bonanza did when it reshaped, well, pretty much everything fish-related on the reels. Trophy Fish also isn’t packed with wildly new mechanics. The main objective is still to land a Fisherman symbol and collect any Fish prize values currently showing. However, around that core collection idea are a handful of adjustments that freshen the flow, making it feel not entirely new, but more like casting from a different spot on the jetty.
Another factor that lifts the game is its chunky 20,752x maximum multiplier. That’s not something you see every day, and it places Trophy Fish in a similar ballpark to titles like BTG’s Golden Catch or Nolimit City’s Ugliest Catch, more or less. It’s also easy to see the route to that number: land the Purple Trophy Fish while the x20 multiplier is active and you’re essentially there. Of course, reaching x20 in free spins or hooking a rare Purple Trophy Fish won’t be effortless—but both remain, at least in theory, achievable.
So, yes—another fishing slot added to the collection. Trophy Fish still revolves around a Fisherman Wild collecting Fish money symbols, and the bonus round is still where you can trigger an increasing catch multiplier, so the feature set will feel familiar. But the strong win potential and a noticeable rework of how the gameplay operates stop Trophy Fish from becoming the stale, week-old fillet it easily could have been.
