This one feels a little unusual. Not that The Sorcerers Shuffle sparked any backlash – it’s certainly not bad – but it did seem slightly plain for a release from this studio. Relax Gaming has set a pretty high bar for itself. Adding to that, The Sorcerers Shuffle isn’t the first time Relax Gaming has explored magical themes. The previous title, Hex, also leaned into sorcery and likewise felt somewhat conventional by Relax Gaming standards. Instead of pushing wild creativity, perhaps magic, here, makes the studio play things a bit more straight than usual.

For example, the Enchanted Forest feature came across as a touch disconnected. So much so that players can’t even purchase it via the buy feature. It includes stackable multipliers and jackpot symbols, even if the jackpot values aren’t huge, yet it still feels fairly mild compared to Relax Gaming’s history in this space. That said, it does add a side dose of hold ‘n win coin collecting. The free spins round was the more engaging part. Along with a permanent wild reel on the far left, the shuffle mechanic is genuinely neat. Land wilds on multiple reels and, as each one takes its turn, it gets shifted left, which can set off repeated win evaluations.

With a 10,000x the bet maximum win, the game suggests that the shuffling mechanic can hit with real force – or that the Enchanted Forest coin totals can grow into something sizeable. Relax Gaming has bigger, bolder titles in its catalogue, and while The Sorcerers Shuffle isn’t among the studio’s most standout releases, it can still deliver the occasional flash of illusion and a few properly magical moments.
