The Ripper: Slot Overview
Night owls might want to watch their step with this one. The Ripper draws on the legend of one of history’s most notorious killers: Jack the Ripper, the serial murderer who haunted Whitechapel in London during the late 19th century. It’s a grim reference, though the slot thankfully avoids the gruesome specifics—pretty much all of them. What remains is a stylised journey to Victorian Britain, back when investigators didn’t have today’s handy tech to help crack cases.
Both the base game and bonus round unfold beneath an archway on a cobbled street in old London. You can make out a butcher’s shop behind the grid, along with other stone buildings and Big Ben sitting in the background. The Ripper’s ominous perspective, paired with dramatic sound design, builds a thick, foggy atmosphere worthy of a London pea-souper. It’s somewhat reminiscent of Red Tiger’s Blood Suckers Megaways, only without the exaggerated cartoon figures and with no humour to soften the tone. This is a serious, weighty game, which is in line with the disturbing subject matter Skywind Group decided to tackle.

The Ripper uses a 6-reel, 4-row layout, delivering 4,096 ways to win. Wins land when at least three identical symbols connect across at least three neighbouring reels, starting from the far-left reel. With a 3 out of 5 rating, The Ripper runs on a medium volatile math model and comes with three RTP configurations, where 96.5% is the highest option. Players can set their stake from 20 p/c to $/€200 per spin, or pay 80 times their stake to bypass the base game and head straight into the free spins round via the bonus buy button.
Blood-stained 10 to A royals serve as the low-paying symbols, while the premium set includes a coil of rope, a blood-splattered coin, some globes, a ring, and a policeman symbol. A winning way made from 6 matching symbols pays 0.4 to 1 times the bet for royals or 1.5 to 5 times the bet for the higher symbols. Whenever winning ways hit, they are removed from the grid through the cascading wins mechanic. New symbols drop into the gaps, potentially forming another win, and the cascade chain ends only once no further wins appear.
The Ripper: Slot Features

The Ripper comes equipped with Chaos Multipliers, Expanding Wilds, Killer Mystery symbols, and free spins.
Chaos Multipliers
In the base game, multipliers of x2 to x5 can appear on any symbol except scatters on reels 2 to 5. If a win contains multiple multipliers, their values are added together. When a winning symbol carries a multiplier, that multiplier transfers to another symbol after a cascade. Multipliers only affect the specific winning combination they are attached to.
Expanding Wilds
Wilds may land on reels 3 or 4. Once they appear, they expand to fill every position on that reel. If an expanding wild contributes to a win, it cascades away just like standard symbols.
Killer Mystery Symbols
During the base game, 2 to 5 mystery symbols can land on reels 2 to 5. On each spin, all mystery symbols reveal the same symbol—excluding wilds and scatters. Mystery symbols don’t cascade away; instead, they stick in place and then reveal a fresh symbol on every cascade.
Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols in the base game awards 10, 15, 20, or 25 free spins, plus a payout of 3x the bet. Free spins always begin with five x2 Chaos Multipliers on the reels. After a multiplier is used in a win, the next multiplier that lands is +1 higher than the previous one—up to a maximum of x10. Also during free spins, Expanding Wilds do not cascade off after being part of a win, and if a multiplier is attached to the wild, it increases by +1 every cascade. Mystery symbols remain active in the round as well, and landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols grants an extra 5, 10, 15, or 20 free spins, plus 3x the bet.

The Ripper: Slot Verdict
The Ripper has a few compelling concepts that became more noticeable as play went on. Early on, the theme—and parts of the presentation—felt a little uncomfortable, which made it harder to settle in and get a clear read on everything. Although The Ripper largely holds together as a single package, there were moments where it seemed like certain pieces might have been built separately and then stitched together later. That may be completely off, but something about the overall feel came across as slightly uneven. The underlying ideas are intriguing, yet the delivery could have been tighter or hit with a bit more force, if that makes sense.
Without trying to be overly critical, the combination of Chaos Multipliers, cascades, full-reel Expanding Wilds, and the slashing animation when wins are cleared made The Ripper feel a bit like a budget take on a Nolimit City title. Again, that’s an observation rather than an attempt to be harsh. The theme also seems selected partly for shock value. Where games like Mental or Serial aim for visceral and psychological impact, The Ripper’s edge comes from referencing a truly horrific chapter of real history. Naturally, players will react differently to the subject matter—this is simply how it landed for us.
That said, The Ripper doesn’t lean heavily into graphic imagery; it’s fairly restrained on that front. It’s likely a good thing Skywind Group didn’t go too explicit. With a solid mix of features and a max win of 5,000x the bet, the game has some appeal, but its hesitation to take the concept somewhere players haven’t already been (without resorting to vulgarity or gore) leaves it feeling more middle-of-the-road than truly impactful for a ‘horror’ slot.
