Stone Gaze of Medusa 2: Slot Overview
With so many slots pouring into the industry, even a small twist, fresh idea, or smart refinement can be enough to help a studio stand out. Stakelogic leaned into that mindset with its 2024 scatter pays title Stone Gaze of Medusa, pairing multiplier symbols with a neat symbol-removal mechanic. Now the developer returns with Stone Gaze of Medusa 2, which largely mirrors what the first game offered, but shifts the action onto a grid where the reel heights change from spin to spin, giving it a Megaways-style feel.
Medusa—the infamous figure whose gaze turns victims to stone—returns, and once again she’s depicted not only with snakes for hair, but with a huge serpent body from the waist down. Armed with a bow, she presides over an attractive ancient Greek backdrop, shrieking and cackling beside the 6-reel slot grid as players take their chances in her realm.

The key change in Stone Gaze of Medusa 2 is that the reels no longer land a fixed symbol count. Instead, between 4 to 7 symbols can appear on each reel, and wins form when 8 or more matching symbols show up anywhere on the screen. Winning symbols are blown away and replaced as new symbols tumble into the empty spaces, with the cycle continuing for as long as fresh wins keep landing. The default RTP is 96.03%, and the math model is rated medium-high volatile. Stakes range from 20 c to $/€100 per spin, and players can enable Super Stake, which increases the wager by 25% to double the chance of triggering free spins.
Five stone-set gems act as the lower-paying symbols, while the higher pays come from daggers, helmets, cups, and shields. Combos of 8-9 matching symbols return 0.3 to 5 times the bet, while landing 15+ of a kind pays 2.5 to 50 times the bet.
Stone Gaze of Medusa 2: Slot Features

Stakelogic has kept most of the core mechanics intact, so Stone Gaze of Medusa 2 still includes Multiplier symbols, upgraded Power symbols, free spins featuring a global win multiplier, and a feature buy option.
Multiplier Symbols
Multiplier symbols can carry values from x2 to x1,000, multiplying the total win. When more than one Multiplier symbol lands, their values are added together.
Power Symbols
Power symbols can appear anywhere on the grid to turn to stone and remove paying symbols. If more than one Power symbol lands, the higher-level ones activate first. A level one Power symbol destroys all symbols on reels showing 1 or 2 of a kind; the level two Power symbol destroys 1, 2, and 3 of a kind; and the third level Power Stone destroys 1, 2, 3, and 4 of a kind.
Free Spins
Landing 4, 5, or 6 scatters awards 10, 15, or 30 free spins, respectively. While the feature is running, you can also pick up +5 more free spins by hitting 3+ scatter symbols. In free spins, Multiplier symbols contribute their values to a global win multiplier. This multiplier affects all wins and does not reset throughout the bonus.
Feature Buy
Players can purchase immediate access to free spins for 100 times the base bet.

Stone Gaze of Medusa 2: Slot Verdict
Overall, Stone Gaze of Medusa 2 doesn’t stray dramatically from its predecessor, though it does introduce a few tweaks. Stakelogic has experimented with variable reel heights, effectively giving the game a semi-Megaways vibe, while most other elements remain close to the original. It also sparks the idea of a true scatter pays slot built on a genuine Megaways engine—two hugely popular concepts combined could be a dangerous mix. At minimum, it would certainly make for a headline-grabbing release.
Stone Gaze of Medusa 2 may not hit that same “big headline” level, but it does offer scatter-pay fans something a little different. The alternating reel heights perform much as you’d expect—often feeling stronger when more symbols are in play, and potentially less so when the reels land fewer. It’s not necessarily a revolution, but it is a new angle, and it further distances Stone Gaze of Medusa 2 from Gates of Olympus than the first Stone Gaze of Medusa managed—although the noticeably slower tempo may not suit everyone. A higher win ceiling might have given the sequel extra punch, but the maximum remains unchanged at 10,000x the bet.
Beyond the shifting reel height, there are additional reasons scatter pays players might choose this over something like Gates. For one, Power symbols can now clear more symbols than before. For another, the multiplier setup is pleasingly simple. In free spins, for example, Multiplier symbols always build the win multiplier, and that win multiplier boosts every win, whether or not a Multiplier symbol appears in the combination. So even if much of this existed in the earlier game, the pseudo-Megaways twist is still unusual for a scatter pays slot, making Stone Gaze of Medusa 2 a solid pick for completists looking to tick it off the list.
