Stadium of Riches: Slot Overview
Football, or soccer depending on where you’re from, is the planet’s most followed sport, with an estimated 3.5-4 billion fans. With numbers like that, it’s hardly surprising the theme has found its way into plenty of slots—some better than others. Now software provider Play’n GO steps onto the pitch with the online slot Stadium of Riches. The studio has tackled the sport before, such as with the oddball three-toed troll title Hugo Goal, but this time the approach sticks very closely—almost a carbon copy—to games like Rise of Merlin and Legacy of Dead.
In Stadium of Riches, you watch the action from the stands, as though you’re part of the crowd. The spectators are lively, arms pumping and constantly shouting about something. Since the pitch itself is doing absolutely nothing, they must be completely fixated on the symbols dropping onto the grid, while the soundtrack is just as—if not more—worked up about it all. Trigger free spins and the viewpoint drops down to pitch level. Overall, it’s fairly standard stuff, and unfortunately the imagination meter doesn’t rise even slightly as you get further into how Stadium of Riches operates.

Every press of the spin button gets the 5×3 matrix rolling and draws another roar from the crowd. The game uses 10 paylines, paying standard wins from the leftmost reel onwards. Players can set coin values from 1c to $/€2, choose 1 to 5 coins, and run with 1 to 10 active paylines. That creates an overall stake range of 1c to $/€100 per spin. It’s highly volatile (though this can shift depending on how many lines you enable), and the best of the five RTP versions is 96.58%.
Stadium of Riches also does that slightly old-fashioned, mildly irritating thing of pricing everything in coins. So, to make symbol values easier to follow, let’s assume we’re wagering 1 coin per spin. From low to high, the paytable includes 10 to A royals, whistles, gloves, balls, and boots, paying 80 to 5,000 coins for 5 OAK. The trophy symbol acts as both wild and scatter. As a wild, it substitutes for all paying symbols. Landing 3, 4, or 5 trophy symbols also awards 2, 20, or 200 coins.
Stadium of Riches: Slot Features

The headline feature in Stadium of Riches is its free spins bonus. Land 3 or more wild scatters to trigger 8 free spins. Before the round starts, one pay symbol is randomly selected as the special expanding symbol. Whenever the chosen symbol appears, it can expand to fill the entire reel it lands on. Expanded symbols pay on all lines and don’t need to be next to each other, nor do they need to begin from the leftmost reel to count. Hitting 3 or more wild scatters retriggers the feature and randomly chooses another pay symbol to become an additional special expanding symbol. You can end up with up to 9 expanding symbols active.
Gamble Feature
Following a win, players may get the choice to gambling or collecting the dough. If you gamble, you can go double or nothing by selecting the right colour on a face-down card, or try for quadruple or nothing by correctly guessing the suit.

Stadium of Riches: Slot Verdict
Football may be known as the beautiful game, but that doesn’t guarantee a beautiful slot. Stadium of Riches illustrates that perfectly. It feels like a title Play’n GO could have produced on autopilot, and after a handful of spins you may find yourself drifting off too—unless you have a particular soft spot for games that feel like they’re moving backwards. In that case, Stadium of Riches might suit you, since it’s essentially built from slots released around six years before it. For everyone else, Stadium of Riches comes across as a plainly presented re-run of older mechanics, with no meaningful modern polish or interesting new angle. Seasoned players will have encountered this kind of setup before—more than once.
To be fair, there is a bright spot if you dig for it: expanding symbols that pay from any reel have long been proven crowd-pleasers, keeping players entertained since close to the early days of online slots. That may be a slight overstatement, but the idea holds. Rise of Merlin and Legacy of Dead pushed the mechanic further by allowing not just one or two, but up to nine expanding symbols to run simultaneously. It was a big moment when it first arrived years ago, though it’s far less impressive now. If Stadium of Riches had slipped in even a hint of something fresh, the generic feel might not have stood out so much. Sadly, it didn’t.
As with much else here, the win potential is also expressed in coins, with players able to take away up to 250,000 of them (or 5,000x). Stadium of Riches didn’t leave a strong impression, and after a few kickabouts—and realising where it sits on the family tree—any motivation to play through the full match quickly faded. Let’s wrap it up politely by saying that if Stadium of Riches were a football team, it wouldn’t be Premier League material.
