Snoop Dogg Dollars: Slot Overview

One of the standout non-sport moments of the 2024 Paris Olympics was the wave of good vibes American artist Snoop Dogg brought along. He was out there carrying the torch through the streets of Saint-Denis, kicking off the breakdancing event, and looking fly AF at the equestrian venue in full riding gear, plus popping up in plenty of other spots. It’s pretty wild when you think back to how Snoop first blew up in the 90s, rapping about weed, Gz, and hustlers. From gangster rapper to Olympic Games special correspondent—an NBC executive producer even called him an “ambassador of happiness.” Quite the evolution. Now the hope is that Snoop can deliver a little gambling-related happiness too, as he fronts Bgaming‘s first celebrity branded slot, Snoop Dogg Dollars.

Set against a heavily tagged graffiti wall, Snoop stands front and center—big stogie in one hand, the other tucked casually in a pocket—posted up beside the Snoop Dogg Dollars grid. Bgaming leans into a chilled urban atmosphere, mixing city ambience with Snoop-style beats (though, unfortunately, not the real tracks). It doesn’t have the same lively hip hop punch as East Coast vs West Coast if you’re comparing, but the “Rollin’ down the street, smokin’ indo, sippin’ on gin and juice” vibe fits the theme nicely.

Snoop Dogg Dollars slot – base game

Snoop Dogg Dollars is presented as a seriously highly volatile slot, which won’t be everyone’s cup of malt liquor, but the player-friendly 97% RTP should appeal to plenty of people. Once you choose a stake from 25 c to $/€25 and press spin, symbols fall into a 6-reel, 8-row grid where wins are created using a cluster pays system.

PS controller icons—circle, triangle, square, and X—make up the 4 lower-value symbols in Snoop Dogg Dollars, followed by three dog character symbols. Clusters of 5 matching symbols pay 0.16 to 0.8 times the bet, while the largest clusters of 15+ of a kind return 16 to 120 times the bet.

Snoop Dogg Dollars: Slot Features

In Snoop Dogg Dollars, cluster wins mark specific positions, and during cascades those marked spots can help bring in multipliers and bonus symbols. The main bonus is a free spins round with persistent cell progression, and it can be purchased. There’s also a special Snoop Spin available to buy.

Multiplier Area

Hitting 5 or more identical symbols in touching positions creates a winning cluster. After the payout, the winning symbols disappear from the board and are replaced as new symbols drop in. Cascades keep going until no further win lands. Each winning cluster also highlights the positions it occupied. If a win lands on a highlighted cell, that cell receives a multiplier of x2. Every additional win on those cells increases the multiplier by x2, up to a maximum of x10. Multipliers count for any win they’re involved in, and if multiple multipliers are included in the same win, their values are added together first. Highlighted cells are cleared once the base game spin ends.

Digging Up A Symbol

After winning symbols vanish, and before the empty spaces are refilled, bonus symbols can appear in the gaps. There are four types of bonus symbols that may show up: wilds, scatters, Weed symbols, and Skull symbols.

Symbols

  • Wilds – Wilds may be dug up before empty cells are filled with new symbols. Wild symbols are sticky, so they stay in their position until the end of a refilling sequence. If a wild is dug up in a cell with a multiplier, it gets an x10 multiplier. Every win the wild participates in increases its multiplier by x10 up to a maximum of x100. If a wild symbol digs up in the free spins feature it stays in its position till the end of the round.
  • Weed Symbol – Weed symbols may be dug up before empty cells are filled with new symbols. Weed symbols upgrade all the multipliers on the reels before disappearing.
  • Skull Symbol – Skull symbols may be dug up before empty cells are filled with new symbols. Skull symbols destroy all low symbols on the reels before disappearing.

Free Spins

The Snoop scatter can appear anywhere, with a maximum of one per reel. Scatters may also be dug up into empty spaces before they’re refilled with fresh symbols. Landing 3 or more scatters activates the free spins feature. Players receive 10, 12, 15, or 20 free spins for hitting 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters, respectively. The triggering scatters transform into wild symbols or cell multipliers of x10. Highlighted cells and multipliers are not removed until the free spins round concludes. Free spins round can be retriggered.

Bonus Buy & Snoop Spin

Players can start the bonus with 3 to 6 scatters by purchasing it directly from the base game. The choices are the standard free spins trigger for 100x, 1 guaranteed wild for 200x, 2 guaranteed wilds for 400x, or 3 guaranteed wilds for 800x. For 20x the bet, players can buy a Snoop Spin, which guarantees at least 1 wild symbol is dug up before the spin begins. It has a maximum win hit rate of 1 in 4,600.

Snoop Dogg Dollars: Slot Verdict

Branded slots can be a tricky balancing act—either they land well or they veer into cringe. Snoop Dogg Dollars, mostly (though it isn’t completely free of issues), ended up being genuinely entertaining. Or “dope,” if we’re talking in the language of the streets. The biggest drawback is the absence of actual Snoop Dogg tracks. Maybe paying for real songs as part of the licensing/branding deal would have blown the budget, or maybe there were other hurdles—copyright or legal complications, for instance. Hard to know. Still, the Snoop voice lines are excellent (“That’s an epic weeyin”), the win count-ups are strong, and the supplied beats do the job—but the lack of real hits is hard not to notice. For what it’s worth, Play’n GO has managed to include band tracks in slots like KISS Reels of Rock and Twisted Sister, just sayin’.

Gameplay-wise, Snoop Dogg Dollars was fun as well. You can spot some familiar DNA from Pragmatic Play’s Sugar Rush in the way positions get marked and multipliers build on them. That said, the approach here has been adjusted, so it doesn’t feel like a straight copy. In this version, individual cells are limited by the x10 cap, and instead of doubling on consecutive wins they add 2 to their value. That may sound softer than Sugar Rush, but in practice it didn’t feel as restrictive as expected. Wilds are a hugely powerful element in Snoop Dogg Dollars because they stick around during cascade sequences and remain fully sticky in free spins. On top of that, their multipliers can reach x100, which can be a major factor in chasing—or at least getting closer to—the 10,000x max win.

After being burned by weak branded slots before, expectations for Snoop Dogg Dollars weren’t especially high—particularly after noticing the Sugar Rush similarities. In the end, though, Snoop Dogg Dollars turned out to be a welcome surprise, using the iconic rapper in a well-assembled slot and pairing the theme with solid mechanics that can deliver gin and juice enema moments when the features start lighting up the grid.
