AvatarUX’s own use of the PopWins mechanic sits in a different class, with more inventive themes, bolder art choices, and a stronger sense of exploration. By stripping out the faux-live atmosphere that helped define previous Runner entries, Runner Runner PopWins can feel oddly isolated, like slot social distancing—like there’s a party happening somewhere else, and we didn’t get the invite. That feeling eased somewhat once a big multiplier built up during free spins and started driving wins, and the game does offer a respectable win cap of 10,000x the base bet.

Runner Runner PopWins lacks the elements that helped the other Runner games stand apart, and it feels more like it’s coasting than taking PopWins in a fresh direction.
