Robbits: Slot Overview

As in most industries, online slots have trendsetters and those who follow. When a concept breaks through and grabs attention, it often sparks ideas elsewhere—or gets replicated in one way or another. That’s very much the case with ELK Studios’ well-liked Pirots series, and it seems developer Quickspin is among the studios that took notice. The result is its own symbol-munching title, Robbits, where—rather than birds—bunny rabbits roam the play area, gobbling up pay symbols and setting off features. Copycats usually have a tougher time earning credibility, but Quickspin has plenty of experience, so it’s worth seeing how this gobbling slot performs.

To start with, the reason “Rabbits” is spelled with an “o” is because these bunnies are literally out on the rob, aiming for the flashy Fur Seasons Casino and Hotel. It sounds like a classy place to target, yet the base game is far from glamorous, showing a scruffy underground hideout—more like a teenager’s basement chill spot—right down to a battered old sofa. In fact, this part of the action is set deep beneath the Casino, suggesting the plan involves tunnelling upward to crack the vault. Could work. With an 80s/90s hip hop DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince-style soundtrack and four playful rabbits, Robbits delivers a lighthearted mood where the crime is carried out by furry troublemakers with a cheeky edge.

Quickspin describes Robbits as a Cluster-Collect slot, played on a 5×5 grid that can expand up to 8×8. Instead of standard payline-style wins, it uses an eating/collecting system that will be instantly recognisable to anyone familiar with ELK Studios’ Pirots games. There are four RTP variants, with the highest reaching 96.08%, and it’s highly volatile. Bets run from $/€0.10 to $/€100, and enabling the Extra Bet doubles the wager to improve the odds of Carrots appearing on the grid.

The rabbits wander around the screen gathering same-colour Chips. Each Chip pays 0.1x to 2.5x the bet, based on its colour and level. Wild symbols replace all Chip symbols and can be collected by more than one Rabbit on a single spin.

Robbits: Slot Features

In terms of features, Robbits includes a Cluster-Collect system, Upgrader and Super Upgrader symbols, Helipads, Carrots, Power Ups, free spins, and a feature buy.

Cluster-Collect

The slot features four different Rabbit characters, and each one is tied to a Chip of the same colour. Rabbits travel around the grid collecting symbols positioned directly next to them horizontally or vertically. Once all characters have finished collecting and come to a stop, fresh symbols tumble in to fill the gaps. Tumbling continues until no further wins occur.

Upgrader and Super Upgrader

Base game spins begin with Chips symbols at their starting level. When a Rabbit collects an Upgrader symbol, every Chip matching that Rabbit’s colour is upgraded by one level for the remainder of the spin. Each Chip can be improved up to 5 levels, and each Upgrader is single-use. After being used, Upgraders disappear. The Super Upgrader works the same way, except that when it’s collected, all Chips are upgraded.

Helipad

Collecting a Helipad symbol calls in a getaway helicopter once the tumble sequence finishes. It expands the grid by adding one extra row and one extra column. It also starts a new tumble with Rabbits placed in new positions.

Carrot

When a Carrot is collected, it guarantees a Power Up feature for the relevant character after tumbles end. Each Rabbit comes with its own Power Up feature. Carrots can be worth x1 to x50, and every Carrot collected has its multipliers added into each Rabbit’s personal multiplier pot. These multipliers last until the base game spin ends, or until the free spins round concludes. Rabbits may collect multiple Carrots before the Power Up activates.

Power Up

Power Ups activate after tumbles finish when a Carrot has been collected. The Power Up remains in effect until the Rabbits involved in the Power Up have completed their collection. While Power Up is active, the multiplier stored in the corresponding Rabbit’s multiplier pot is added to the win. Once triggered, the features work as follows:

  • Red Rabbit feature – Red Chip symbols are upgraded two levels, and all Rabbits switch positions. The multiplier connected to this feature is applied to all Rabbits’ collections.
  • Purple Rabbit feature – The Chips around the purple Rabbit transform into purple Chips. Non-pay symbols are not transformed. After the transformation, the character performs a collect with the multiplier from its pot.
  • Green Rabbit feature – All the Chips are collected by the character without it moving. Chips are added to the wins, multiplied by the corresponding multiplier.
  • Blue Rabbit feature – The Blue Rabbit jumps to each of the other Rabbits’ positions that have blue Chips and in the Cluster-Collect direction around them. Collected Chips are multiplied by the character multiplier and added to the win. The original characters in those positions return when the blue character is done, who also returns to its original position.

Free Spins

Rabbits are able to collect bonus scatters positioned next to them, which are then removed from the grid. When 3 bonus scatters are collected, players receive 6 free spins, plus 1 extra free spin for every additional scatter collected. The grid size, symbol upgrade levels, and carrot multipliers from the base game are carried over and do not reset during the feature. These elements can also continue to build throughout the round. Free spins cannot be retriggered.

Buy Feature

Players can purchase entry to the free spins round for 70x the stake, which triggers the bonus with 3 to 5 scatter symbols.

Robbits: Slot Verdict

There’s a line between taking inspiration and outright imitation, and while Print Studios’ Chomplings could be viewed as drawing ideas from Pirots, Robbits comes across as the more straightforward copy. The parallels are obvious right away, from the rabbits moving orthogonally across the grid to the way they chomp through symbols. Even so, Quickspin deserves some credit for injecting its own flavour into the framework, resulting in a game that feels familiar yet still has a bit of personality. The playful heist setup, the upbeat soundtrack, and the four mischievous rabbit characters combine into an easygoing atmosphere that’s simple to relax into, even if the foundation leans heavily on what came before.

Robbits begins to stand out more through the features layered onto the Cluster-Collect base. Character-specific Power Ups, individual multiplier pots, and the Helipad grid expansion add movement and momentum as the board grows, symbols level up, and multipliers build—when everything lines up. The stacked mechanics can create fun bursts of escalation, especially in free spins where nothing resets and upgrades can keep piling on. That said, while Robbits is capable of producing entertaining stretches of gobbling mayhem, it’s limited by a top win of 4,257x the bet.

So no, this isn’t a Pirots killer, but it is a colourful, energetic, and approachable spin on the eating-symbols idea, delivered with Quickspin’s usual polish. Robbits doesn’t reach the same level of chaos or depth that Pirots slots have developed over time, yet it could still appeal to players who want something lighter—so long as they can look past the derivative feel and the lower maximum payout.
