It’s good to see LootLines return, and even better that they’re used in ways we haven’t quite seen in earlier Hacksaw Gaming titles built around them. Donny Dough introduced the mechanic in 2024, giving its Multi-Dough symbols a sticky behaviour during bonus play, while Marlin Masters fused LootLines with a Big Bass Bonanza meets 4 Fantastic Fish style fishing spectacle. Reign of Rome adds a subtle Le Bandit flavour through three bonus rounds that scale upward, with the most desirable one—Fight For Glory—not available from the bonus buy menu.

Rarity tends to increase appeal, and while Fight For Glory isn’t entirely “hidden,” needing 5 scatters can be a demanding ask in many slots—so anyone hunting it down may need patience. On the plus side, Reign of Rome’s 15,000x win cap can be achieved in every game mode, and the other, more accessible bonus rounds are worthwhile too. In This Is Rome, stacking non-winning Tribute multipliers into the LootBar is trickier because they must appear alongside at least one Tribute symbol win. Plus, you must fill all five LootBar slots before it pays out. Still, that round at least includes the LootBar, whereas Path To Power does not. Instead, it boosts Tribute symbol potential compared to the base game, and LootLines can still deliver excitement at any stage.

It’s not easy to call whether the LootBar concept beats the sticky/respin approach from Donny Dough, so it’s fair to say each style brings advantages and drawbacks. Either way, Reign of Rome offers a fresh, engaging spin on the LootLines mechanic, making it another enjoyable release from Hacksaw Gaming.
