Reactoonz 2: Overview
Everyone’s favourite googly-eyed goons return in Reactoonz 2, the follow-up to one of Play’n GO’s best-loved grid slots. The first game was a huge hit, so expectations for the sequel were naturally high. At first glance the tweaks don’t look dramatic, yet they’re significant enough to set the two titles apart. For starters there’s an additional collection meter, the modifiers have been reshuffled, and the wilds come with a few clever new moves. Beneath it all sits the same frantic pace and friendly cast that made the original shine. Is it an improvement or a step back? Let’s dig in.

Visually, it’s comfortingly familiar. Reactoonz 2 sticks with the 7×7 format, pairing a fairly simple blue backdrop with an energetic soundtrack. The right side of the interface is where things differ, however. Two new meter/charge panels now sit there, springing into action as cluster wins start to chain together. Play’n GO has clearly aimed for a “same vibe, but with extra layers” style of upgrade.
Reactoonz 2 runs on everything from mobile to desktop, with stakes ranging from 20 p/c to $/€100 per spin. The numbers are close to Reactoonz, although the default RTP has edged down to 96.2%. Volatility is still high (8/10), meaning the overall risk-and-reward profile feels very much in line with the original—one of the sequel’s strongest points.
Back again are the same 8 characters that make up the standard pay symbols. They’re divided into two sets: the one-eyed and the two-eyed creatures. Wins land when clusters of five or more identical symbols connect horizontally or vertically, which then activates the cascade mechanic. The biggest clusters (15+) deliver the top payouts, spanning from 3x to 500x the stake. The best-paying premium symbol has also been reduced in value.
The last four symbols are wilds, each with different properties. The weakest of the bunch is the uncharged wild. These can show up during cascades, but they don’t create wins by themselves. That said, they can turn into electric wilds when positioned next to a win, or when the Wild Pair Explosion triggers. The other wild types substitute for any pay symbol, as explained below.
Reactoonz 2: Features
This section may take more than one read to fully click, but the core idea is simple: winning clusters charge meters, and those meters unlock increasingly powerful features. Here’s how it works.
Everything revolves around the cascade feature. When a cluster win hits, the winning symbols disappear and new ones drop in to fill the empty spaces, which can create additional wins. Cascades keep rolling and charging meters until no further winning clusters form.
Each spin randomly selects one of the one-eyed symbols to become the fluctuating target. When fluctuating symbols are part of a win, an electric wild is placed into one of the newly cleared positions and the Fluctometer is charged at the same time. Once the meter is completely filled, 1-3 electric wilds are added onto the grid. The Fluctometer can be filled multiple times, but it becomes inactive if the Gargantoon is released.
Electric wilds substitute for any pay symbol and also zap symbols from the grid. Any non-wild symbols removed by an electric wild add charge to the Quantumeter, with each removed symbol counting as one charge. The Quantumeter can keep building even after an Energoon is released, but it is switched off if a Gargantoon is unleashed. Reaching 55, 85, 110, or 135 charges unlocks level 1, 2, 3, or 4 respectively, and each level releases a different wild:
- Level 1 unleashes four 1×1 Energoon wilds.
- Level 2 unleashes a single 2×2 Energoon wild.
- Level 3 unleashes a single 3×3 Gargantoon wild.
- Level 4 adds an x2 multiplier for all wins including the Gargantoon wilds.
Once a 3×3 Gargantoon triggers a cascade, it splits into two 2×2 Gargantoon wilds. After those trigger a cascade, they then transform into nine 1×1 Gargantoon wilds.
And there’s still one more twist. After all features have resolved, if 2 or more Electric wilds remain visible, the Wild Pair Explosion feature activates. When 2 electric wilds are next to each other, every symbol except wilds is cleared from the grid. If the wilds aren’t adjacent, the symbols between two of them—plus the surrounding symbols—are destroyed (wilds excluded). Symbols removed this way do not pay, but they do add charge to the Quantumeter.
Reactoonz 2: Verdict
Fans of the original Reactoonz—and grid slot lovers in general—are likely to be very interested in what Play’n GO has done with the sequel. Going through the rules can easily leave you more puzzled than simply launching Reactoonz 2 and trying it out. Like before, repeated cluster wins gradually build into bigger and bigger moments as the features stack up. This time, the focus is on charging electric wilds to power the four-level Quantumeter, where higher levels bring stronger benefits. Try the demo and it should start to make sense quickly enough.
It’s not a total reinvention, but there’s enough new here to give Reactoonz 2 its own personality. The win potential has also been nudged upward, now topping out at 5,083 times the stake. It’s not a huge leap over the first game, but it’s still a monster payout if you manage to get the creatures firing on all cylinders. The critters remain central to the experience too, and they’re as likeable as ever. Their little wiggles and reactions when lightning strikes are genuinely entertaining, keeping the sequel every bit as charming. More importantly, Reactoonz 2 delivers the same addictive flow—once you’ve worked out what’s actually happening.
Overall, Reactoonz 2 is just as bonkers—if not even more so—than the original. When the features kick off, it can feel like every firework goes off at the same time. It’s a strong sequel to one of Play’n GO’s most popular slots, though it may not create quite the same shockwave. Perhaps it stays a touch too close to the first to make an equally massive splash, but it’s still a blast to play either way.
