Anyone who’s followed Backseat Gaming’s releases may feel PyroFox doesn’t introduce many ideas the studio hasn’t explored before. Expanding wild reels, a global multiplier, sticky wilds—solid ingredients, but ones that have appeared across plenty of earlier Backseat Gaming titles in one form or another, including Crystal Robot, Chocolate Rocket, Super Twins, and others. The overall blend isn’t a carbon copy of any single game, but PyroFox is clearly assembled from building blocks the studio likes to reuse—and to be fair, those blocks can be very effective when they line up well.

That said, PyroFox also includes a couple of less typical touches for Backseat Gaming. Most notably, the global multiplier climbs by +1 on every single free spin. This ties directly into the gamble option too, because more spins literally mean a higher global multiplier, which can make it hard to resist taking a shot on the wheel at the start of a bonus round to try and add extra free spins. Of course, that can backfire if the gamble doesn’t go your way. Another interesting point is that Flame Fox’s Frenzy doesn’t “upgrade” Blaze of Glory in the way many escalating bonus structures do. Instead, one feature has sticky wilds but no Pyro symbols—and the other flips that around.
