Punk Toilet: Slot Overview

Ever pictured Einstein letting one rip while perched on the throne? Fire up Punk Toilet from the twisted brains at Nolimit City and, sooner or later, you’ll see the father of general relativity doing exactly that. If that feels like heresy or just plain daft, it’s probably a sign Punk Toilet isn’t for you. For some time, Nolimit has been charging down its own track, making trends instead of copying them. The end result of not caring about taste, fashion, or anyone else’s opinion is Punk Toilet—a slot that’s effectively created its own weird little category, inviting you to sit down and reflect on life, much like a visit to the karzi.

Punk Toilet didn’t appear out of nowhere, though, and it has clear ties to several Nolimit City titles—most notably Punk Rocker, since the two share a lot in terms of style and attitude. In fact, the studio says Punk Toilet was supposed to come first, sparked by a visit to a vividly decorated London toilet. For whatever reason, the concept was parked in favour of Punk Rocker, but like a stubborn floater that won’t go away, Punk Toilet has resurfaced in all its public-bog splendour.

The action unfolds inside a brightly coloured toilet, complete with urinals, heaps of graffiti, and a suspicious Glory Door. As in Punk Rocker, you can hear muffled band noise coming from the next room, and it ramps up when the bonus rounds kick in. From the first spin, Punk Toilet doesn’t hold back. Nothing is off-limits here, which is clear from punked-up versions of Winston Churchill and others. Visually, it won’t be to everyone’s taste, though it’s clearly intended as tongue-in-cheek humour rather than outright insult. Of course, not everyone will read it that way—but Punk Toilet doesn’t seem designed to win friends politely.

Its Extremely Volatile math model isn’t exactly a people-pleaser either. Still, anyone who enjoys Nolimit City’s take-no-prisoners style will be right at home. As usual, the RTP comes in different versions: at its best, the default is 96.09% in normal play, increasing to 96.71% when buying features—more on that below. Bets range from 20 p/c to $/€100, and you can take this toilet tour on any device.

Each spin begins with the 5-reel grid set in a 3-3-3-3-1 formation, though multiple features can alter it dramatically. In the standard setup, there are 81 ways to win, with that number quickly ballooning when extra symbols are pushed onto the reels or split. Wins are formed by three to five matching symbols connecting from the left, and there are 11 pay symbols in total. The low pays are 10 to Ace graffiti symbols, paying 1.25-2x the bet for five, while six high-paying character symbols return 2.5 to 5x the bet for five of a kind. One last symbol to note is a regular wild, which substitutes for any pay symbol to help complete winning ways.

Punk Toilet: Slot Features

As you’d expect, Punk Toilet isn’t short on extras—there are two bonus games, along with a stack of X-style and splitting mechanics.

Urinals

No toilet is complete without urinals, and Punk Toilet has three of them sitting at the bottom of reels 2, 3, and 4. Landing 1 or 2 scatter symbols on these reels opens the urinal beneath them. Inside is an oversized version of a character symbol (excluding the Haw-King), and it also includes a wild beer symbol.

Glory Door

Next up is the mysterious Glory Door, which covers three lower positions on the fifth reel. When the Loo symbol lands above it, the Glory Door opens to reveal one of two things. The first possibility is a 3-position high Haw-King pay symbol. When that happens, all character symbols currently visible on the reels turn into Haw-King symbols. The second possibility is that the Glory Door reveals a special symbol plus a two-position high character symbol. That character symbol will double the sizes of the same symbol type on reels 1-4. The special symbol could be:

  • A regular wild symbol.
  • xSplit – splits all regular paying symbols to its left on reels 1-4 in a horizontal line. xSplit then acts as a 2 high wild. It always splits xWays symbols if present.
  • Mega Split – splits all regular pay symbols to double size on reels 1-4. It also acts as a 2 high wild.

xWays

This symbol can land on the middle three reels. When it does, the xWays can be sized anywhere from 2-6 symbols and will reveal a random pay symbol or a wild symbol. If more than one xWays appears at the same time, they will all reveal the same symbol type.

P!$$ Spins

Hitting 3 scatters on the middle three reels in the same spin awards 6 P!$$ Spins. In each spin of this round, the urinals at the bottom of the reels are always opened to show character symbols. Landing a scatter during the feature grants an additional spin and upgrades the Urinal multiplier on its reel by +1. This multiplier boosts the character symbol’s multiplier and does not reset. If a Loo symbol lands, the Glory Door opens, +2 additional spins are awarded, and the feature is upgraded to $h!t Spins. Roughly 1/210 base game spins will trigger this bonus round.

$h!t Spins

Landing 3 scatter symbols plus 1 Loo symbol awards 8 $h!t Spins. The rules mirror P!$$ Spins, with the added twist that the Loo symbol sticks where it lands and the Glory Door is always open. Naturally triggered, $h!t Spins occur at a frequency of 1/13,000 spins.

Nolimit Bonus

For players who prefer to purchase their way into free spins, there are three choices. The first is P1$$ Spins, priced at 67x the bet with an RTP of 96.38%. The second is $h!t Spins for 345x the bet, delivering 96.76%. The third option costs 206x and is a 50/50 toss-up between the two bonus games – RTP is 96.71%.

Punk Toilet: Slot Verdict

Very few studios—if any besides Nolimit City—would have the nerve to put out something like Punk Toilet. It brings to mind Baron von Richthofen’s line from the British comedy Blackadder: ‘Ha ha ha! You English and your sense of humour! How lucky you English are to find the toilet so amusing! For us, it is a mundane and functional item…for you, the basis of an entire culture!‘ You know that moment in a meeting—or even mid-chat—when a thought pops up and an internal filter decides whether it’s acceptable to say out loud? That filter seems to be missing at Nolimit City. Whatever these people imagine has a real chance of becoming an actual slot. They’re the wish-granters and dream-builders of the online slot scene.

Of course, what’s a dream for one player is a nightmare for another, and a slot centred on poopoo and peepee won’t be for everyone. Still, it’s not relentlessly crude once you get past the initial “what were they thinking?” reaction. Some players may take more issue with how certain figures are depicted. Since we’re not here to police ethics, we’ll leave that argument aside. On the gameplay front, Punk Toilet is loaded with those huge Nolimit City moments—when a couple of special symbols line up with the right pay symbol, some X-ing and slicing kicks off, and one spin turns into a monster. Mechanically, it’s classic Nolimit City, with fresh touches like the Glory Door and Haw-King transformation added in. In terms of potential, it’s no Tombstone RIP; the 33,333x the bet max win is on the more modest end for Nolimit City. Even so, it’s far from weak, and expectations were high to see it land strongly on release.

Some will definitely find Punk Toilet a bit harsh—or at least a touch disgusting. But for players who enjoy a laugh, a bit of shock value, and razor-edged gameplay, Punk Toilet is a solidly entertaining pick. After spinning a slot built around bodily discharges, you can’t help but wonder where on earth Nolimit is taking us next.
