Pink Elephants Trinity: Slot Overview
The online slot Pink Elephants launched in 2017 and quickly became one of Thunderkick’s standout hits. The base game was fairly plain, but it left room for a bonus round that could turn high-paying symbols into the top symbol, shining bright like a pink elephant. The studio returned with a sequel, Pink Elephants 2, in 2020, which sensibly didn’t stray too far from the proven formula, though the refreshed features came with increased win potential. Since then, Thunderkick has explored fresh concepts and delivered Pink Elephants Trinity, a release that not only brings the highest potential of the series, but also significantly reworks the bonus-round rules—something that may delight long-time fans or send them the other way. Or leave them undecided; let’s dig in.
Whether or not Pink Elephants Trinity becomes the top pick of the trio, it’s undeniably a strong-looking game and arguably the most otherworldly of the set. The scene is set at night, and this time monkeys—rather than lemurs or goats—take on the supporting role. Of course, the Pink Elephant still rules the roost, and it’s found a new group of creatures to toy with. It radiates a pink glow, and the animal symbols have an unusual animated vibe, as though they know something we don’t. The backdrop is equally strange, showing elephants (possibly statues) and waterfalls, while a mysterious pink triangle lights up the area. The mood is darker than before; the cheerful outdoor feel of earlier entries is replaced by something more enigmatic and suspenseful.

As with the other two games, Pink Elephant Trinity runs on a 6×4 grid with 4,096 ways to win, although it can add an extra reel once you reach the final stage of the bonus round. It also carries the lowest RTP of the three at 94.15%, paired with a highly volatile math model. Bets range from $/€0.10 to $/€100, and several boosters and buys are available to speed up the journey from the base game into the bonus.
The paytable features bone-shaped 9-A royals, 4 monkey symbols, and the Pink Elephant. The royals return 1x to 2x the bet for 6 OAK, monkeys pay up to 2.5x to 5x, and the Pink Elephant pays 8x for 6 OAK. Pink Elephants can also appear once the extra reel is added during End Game, paying 13x for 7 OAK in that situation. Wild symbols replace all other symbols except the scatter. Wilds land as single symbols and cannot appear on the leftmost or rightmost reels.
Pink Elephants Trinity: Slot Features

Pink Elephants Trinity is unexpectedly distinct from the original, and its core mechanics include a Mystery Feature, a level-up style bonus round, Bet+ boosters, and bonus buys.
Mystery Feature
The Mystery feature can trigger in all phases, injecting scatters before a spin. In the base game, up to 5 scatters may be injected, and a regular sixth scatter is still possible. In the bonus round, up to 3 can be injected. It may activate the bonus round with regular scatters, injected scatters, or both, and during level 5, Monkey Ascension, it occurs on every spin.
Bonus Game
The bonus round starts when 3 scatters land, whether regular or Mystery, awarding 8 free spins. If it’s triggered by 4-6 scatters, feature animals may start the round active. Pink Elephants and scatters hold Peanuts that advance levels, and each new level awards +3 free spins. Landing 2 scatters gives an x2 Peanut multiplier, while 3 scatters award an x3 Peanut multiplier and +3 spins. There are 6 levels in total, and levelling up doesn’t just add spins—it can unlock features, and levels may be skipped. With 4-6 scatters, Panthera, Jaguar, and Bufo may start active.
- Level 1 – starting level, (0 Peanuts.) This plays like the base game, except Peanut collection is enabled.
- Level 2 – Panthera Wild Paw (21). Wilds are highlighted with frames that can later turn into sticky wilds if hit by a wild or injected by a Jaguar/Bufo.
- Level 3 – Jaguar Wild Claw (34). Places a wild before each spin on reels 2-5. If it lands on a Panthera frame, it becomes a sticky wild
- Level 4 – Bufo Wild Jump (55). Improves a sticky wild into a Sticky Peanut (essentially adding a Sticky Peanut onto a sticky wild), or creates one if none are present. If no upgrade can happen, it remains idle.
- Level 5 – Monkey Ascension (89). Feature animals are disabled; the 4 mid pay Monkeys are removed. Sticky wilds with or without Peanuts stay in play, and the Mystery Feature triggers on every spin.
- Level 6 – End Game (144). Monkey Ascension and Mystery Feature are switched off. A 7th reel is added for 16,384 ways, and all sticky wilds turn into Sticky Pink Elephants. Peanuts are removed, and all non-Elephants are replaced with non-paying bone-cross.
Bet+ & Bonus Buys
The Bet+ includes four boosters: Bonus Boost, Bonus Boost Plus, Bonus Boost Ultra, and Bonus Boost Extreme. These cost 2x, 3x, 5x, or 55x the bet and make each spin 3, 6, 12, or 144 times more likely to trigger the bonus game, respectively. There are also three feature buys: free spins triggered by 3+, 4+, or 5+ scatters for 150x, 300x, or 600x the bet, respectively.

Pink Elephants Trinity: Slot Verdict
Anyone expecting another round of orb collecting to convert premium symbols into Pink Elephant symbols should reset expectations. Thunderkick has revisited the concept and given players a different objective to chase. The bonus game still revolves around gathering items to improve its output, but the route you take and what you get for it are noticeably different from the two earlier Pink Elephants titles. Pink Elephants Trinity pushes the series in a confident new direction, yet while that willingness to break away is admirable, the added complexity and risk could split opinion.
The biggest shift is that the original’s simple orb-collection bonus—eventually leaving only low pays and Pink Elephants on the reels—has been replaced by a system with more moving parts. Some elements feel a little strange. For example, landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters always awards just 8 free spins. The upside of extra scatters is that the feature may, as the rules are a bit unclear here, begin with animals already active. That’s not a major issue when you trigger it naturally, but when paying significantly more for a 4 or 5 scatter feature buy, the uncertainty—and receiving the same number of free spins as a 3 scatter trigger—could be worth thinking about. The 92.1%-93.1% RTPs for the Bet+ and feature buys don’t improve the picture either.
The level-up structure also took a while to appreciate. It’s slightly fiddly, but sticky wilds are generally a strong addition in a high-ways slot, and the final two levels are genuinely tempting. Removing the monkey symbols during Monkey Ascension echoes the classic Pink Elephants feel, while End Game is on another tier entirely. There aren’t many free spins available to gather the Peanuts needed to reach the last level, but the added reel, the extra ways, and sticky Pink Elephants make for a seriously exciting target.
Credit to Thunderkick for taking risks and refreshing a familiar franchise instead of simply reworking what already worked. Pink Elephants Trinity asks more from players in certain respects, and even with win potential now reaching 14,400x the bet, it’s easy to imagine some fans of the original bouncing off the added complexity (and a few questionable numbers). Still, for gamblers who stick with it (and catch the right luck), the revamped bonus path can lead to a potentially outrageous End Game stage that, in those moments, lifts the series to a whole new level.
