Pinatas & Ponies: Slot Overview
Curiously, the Red Tiger slot reviewed just before this was Peggy Sweets, and it was a bit unexpected to find it was a scatter-paying grid game. The studio has followed that up with another scatter-paying grid slot called Pinatas & Ponies. Sometimes a single screenshot is enough to make your mind up; with Pinatas & Ponies, even the title alone might be enough to decide yes or no. Still, staying neutral, let’s figuratively hang Pinatas & Ponies from a tree branch, give it a few swings, and see what spills out.
Beyond the payout method, Pinatas & Ponies also appeared to have quite a few similarities with Peggy Sweets. Mostly smaller, around-the-edges details, but it gave the impression both games came from the same blueprint, the same team, or something along those lines. The action takes place outdoors on a lush green lawn, surrounded by cupcakes, tulips, balloons, flags, and more. In other words, it’s a party scene—fitting for the tradition of blindfolded kids cracking open pinatas at celebrations like birthdays. Pinatas are tied to Mexican culture, and a cheerful Latin American energy runs through Pinatas & Ponies, helping to keep the mood upbeat.

Pinatas & Ponies runs on a 6×6 game grid and uses a scatter pays system to deliver wins. That means whenever 10 identical symbols appear anywhere on the grid, a payout is awarded. Winning symbols are removed from the board—like they’ve been knocked out of a pinata—and new symbols fall in from above to fill the gaps. If the drop creates another win, the cycle continues, stopping only when no further win is formed. With highly volatile gameplay, Pinatas & Ponies has an RTP of 95.66%, or 95.75% when purchasing a feature. It plays smoothly on any device, and players can choose stakes from 10 p/c to $/€40 per round.
Symbol-wise, it’s all about sweets, with payouts made up of candy icons. From lowest to highest, there are four fruit-themed shapes, then three standard hard candies, and finally a caramel-filled chocolate as the top-paying symbol. Returns range from 0.1 to 1.5 times the stake for landing 10-12 of a kind, up to 1.2 to 20 times the stake for a 25+ scatter win. One additional note: Pinatas & Ponies does not have wild symbols.
Pinatas & Ponies: Slot Features

What it does include, though, is pinatas. There are three of them displayed above the reels: the Small Pinata, Big Pinata, and the Super Pinata. The larger the pinata, the greater the possible rewards.
Multipliers
In the base game, the pinatas start off dormant, but they can randomly activate and award a multiplier. The Small Pinata, Big Pinata, and Super Pinata can grant multipliers of x2-x5, x6-x10, or x11-x15, respectively. Any multiplier applies to the total win at the end of the current spin. In the base game, multipliers reset between spins, while in free spins they stack and won’t reset until the feature finishes. The multiplier is capped at x30.
Sweet Spins
Landing 3 Sweet Spins scatters triggers 10 Sweet Spins, with 2 extra Sweet Spins added for every scatter beyond 3. During the bonus, hitting 3 scatters awards +5 more free spins, plus 2 free spins for each scatter beyond 3. In free spin, pinatas are activated by a progress bar, where winning symbols help fill the meter. Once a pinata activates, it shows up on screen and players click it to reveal multipliers. All multipliers are accumulated (up to x30) until the feature ends, after which both the progress bar and multiplier are reset.
Where offered, players can buy features. This guarantees activation of the Small Pinata, the Big Pinata, or the Super Pinata for 5x, 10x, or 15x the bet, respectively. Alternatively, Sweet Spins can be purchased for 80 times the stake.

Pinatas & Ponies: Slot Verdict
The upside is that Pinatas & Ponies isn’t quite as child-focused as it might initially seem. It’s undeniably light and playful, and if you lean into that, the cheerful tone may win you over—at least for a while. It was also notable to see Red Tiger release a couple of cluster pays titles around the same period, though neither this nor Peggy Sweets felt especially standout. It may be that the studio was simply feeling out the format before going all-in and pairing it with stronger ideas.
Some of the best moments in Pinatas & Ponies came from cracking—well, clicking—activated pinatas during free spins to uncover their values. The overall energy is also bright and upbeat. Outside of that, the game is fairly simple: potentially fun for the right player, but not the kind of scatter-paying slot that redefines the style. One drawback is the win potential. You know those videos where a kid swings for the pinata, misses, and nails their dad in the nuts? Hunting down Pinatas & Ponies’ max win felt a bit like that. Even with decent symbol payouts and multipliers, the biggest prize players can pull from this pinata is 2,172.7x the bet. It’s not exactly a shot to the groin, and it’s not the smallest number in the Red Tiger lineup, but it’s still low enough to dampen some of the good vibes created elsewhere.
Overall, Pinatas & Ponies was reasonably fun at the time, with a couple of amusing touches worth trying. It’s positive and upbeat as well, which helps, but the excitement faded quickly—so once it had been cracked open, there wasn’t much urge to go back for another round.
