Orbitfall: Slot Features

In Orbitfall, any symbols included in a winning cluster are removed from the grid, and the gaps are filled as symbols zooming upwards, with fresh ones entering from below. Avalanches continue for as long as new wins keep forming. Cluster wins destroy blockers. All winning symbols shoot upward toward the blocker tiles. One blocker symbol per column per cluster is destroyed.
Orbitfall’s first level starts with 5 rows of symbols plus a single blocker row above. The second level features 2 rows of blockers, the third level includes 3 rows of blockers, and the final level begins with 1 row of blockers. You progress to the next level once every blocker in the current level has been cleared. When entering level 2 or 3, any remaining symbols carry over, and each new level increases the chance of landing feature symbols.
On the final level, every symbol drop makes the blockers move downwards one step, while an extra blocker row is added at the top. The final level ends as soon as a blocker tile reaches the bottom symbol row. The currently active multiplier and any possible remaining redrops are carried into the final level when it activates.
Feature Symbols
Blocker symbols can hold a feature symbol, which is released once the blocker is destroyed. These are:
- Redrops – increases the redrop count. A redrop is triggered and consumed at the end of the game round when there are no more wins or at the end of a free drop. All symbols are replaced in a redrop, but current blockers remain.
- Level Clear – removes all other blockers, triggering them to release their symbols and advancing the game to the next level.
- Multiplier symbol – increases the global multiplier. The global multiplier is applied to all subsequent wins in the current round.
Lazer Feature
A normal 1×1 pay symbol can drop in with a lazer feature attached. It charges the lazer when it becomes part of a winning combination. A lazer charge is consumed at the end of the game round when there are no more wins or at the end of a free drop; then, an entire column is removed.
Alien Attack
An alien attack can trigger at the end of a game round when there are no more wins or at the end of a free drop. When it happens, 1 to 6 randomly chosen columns have all payout symbols removed.
Free Drops
A bonus symbol reaching the top symbol row activates the bonus game and awards 5 free drops. The current active multiplier and any remaining redrops are brought into the bonus round. The bonus game cannot be retriggered.
X-iter
The X-iter includes Bonus Hunt spins, priced at 3x the bet each, and they make triggering the bonus game more than 4 times more likely. Orbitfall: Slot Verdict

The attraction is obvious: there’s something genuinely fun about a slot that isn’t chasing the latest edgy trend, but instead deliberately looks backward for inspiration. This throwback movement is thriving in video games, and with releases like Orbitfall, it’s becoming a stronger presence in slots too.
Being tied, even loosely, to a legendary classic like Space Invaders certainly adds to the draw. Orbitfall doesn’t mirror that game beat for beat, but the ships, the shooting, and the interplay of upward and downward motion make the connection hard to ignore. Still, ELK Studios has ensured Orbitfall feels unmistakably their own, packing in plenty of twists and tension-boosters. Among them are the three feature symbols, which can help by clearing blockers and effectively granting an extra chance. Then there’s the alien attack and the lazer boost. Feature symbols can also raise the multiplier, which is a key factor in the overall equation. The levelling system adds a mission-like layer, giving players a reason to keep pressing spin, and just like the real Space Invaders, it can become aggravating. Reaching the goal and naturally blasting your way into the final level may be difficult enough to sap the will to continue—but maybe not. The destruction could pay off, and Orbitfall comes with a win cap of 7,500 times the bet to aim your ship toward.
Whether the up-and-down space invader vibe is your thing or not, it’s tough to argue that ELK Studios hasn’t once again brought creativity to Orbitfall’s design. It may end up as a charming oddity rather than a runaway smash, but the bloated online gambling universe has plenty of space for original titles like Orbitfall.
